Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
This is the last installment speaking to the subject of “What and When to Ask” and “What and When to Decree.” This message will address “When to Decree.” It really is a simple answer. All the time. There should be general and specific declarations or decrees – every day.
This past week during my study time, the Lord spoke the following to me: “Never let your struggle become your identity. Be careful of what you say ‘you are’ when you say ‘I am.'” We’ve learned we are our own prophets. What comes out of our mouth determines our destiny or future. I don’t care what religion says or what anyone else says. The Scriptures are black and white about this. Those that don’t learn it, no matter how much they love Jesus and His Father, will be doomed to the outcome of their words. God cannot change The Word that has gone out of His mouth.
Psalm 89:34
My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips.
God not only will not change His Word, but He also cannot change our words. God does everything possible through His Word and The Holy Spirit to get across to us that every word we speak has good or bad value to it (Deuteronomy 30:19). Therefore, only speak His Word.
We should daily be decreeing the general outcome in all areas of our life. Joshua 1:8 completely encapsulates this Truth.
Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Don’t get hung up on the Words, “This book of the law…” If you’re so worried about mixing the Law and Grace, then say, “This book of The Word….” By the way. The Word of God is The Law of God. And The Law of God is The Grace of God. I’ll let you figure this one out.
Joshua 1:8 clearly tells us to keep The Word of God on our lips, meditating (means “to mutter, to speak, to contemplate”) daily, throughout the day, and doing or acting upon what is written in God’s Word. If we do this there is a promise attached to this verse. “For then THOU shalt make THY way prosperous and then THOU shalt have good success.” Notice it is “YOU” that makes your way prosperous by the decreed, in faith, Word of God. It doesn’t say “God shalt make thy way prosperous….” He already has in the spiritual realm. He’s already spoken your prosperity and success. It’s called The Word of God. Now, it’s ENTIRELY up to YOU to make thy way prosperous and to have good success. YOU! ME! I know, this completely spits in religion’s face. And rightly so. God has already determined our success. Now, it is up to us to speak it into the physical realm in faith. YOU have free will.
Ephesians 1:3
Blessed be The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
What blessings are we given through Jesus Christ? Spiritual blessings. Where are these blessings? In heavenly places in Christ. Where is Christ? At the right hand of The Father AND in every Believer. If Christ is in us, this also is a heavenly place – our spirit which is The Spirit of God in us – the Godhead. Now, according to Joshua 1:8 and Jesus’ teachings in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, WE have to manifest the blessings in the physical realm by our words spoken in faith.
What are general decrees? Read Deuteronomy 1:14, Psalm 112, Psalm 91, Isaiah 54: 14, 17, Psalm 41, Malachi 3:10-12, Psalm 37:3-7, Psalm 34, Psalm 103:1-5; Psalm 68:19, I Peter 2:24, and on and on and on. These are just some of thousands of God’s Words WE should be speaking over our families and our lives throughout the days and weeks in good times and in struggles. We should decree this Word in the form of praise and worship, thanking and blessing God for His goodness, His mercy, His compassion, His tenderness, His spiritual, physical, financial, and material prosperity, His Blessing, etc. I have people say, “I’m not really sure how to do this.” Just start and let The Holy Spirit guide you. Quit being scared to be wrong or disbelieving. Even if you at first don’t believe what you are saying, continue to say it. By doing this, faith will eventually build in you as The Scriptures tell us in Romans 10:17. You will eventually believe what you are saying, and the declaration will then be in faith. Don’t be stupid enough to believe Satan who will try and tell you it won’t work, it’s a waste of time. We’ve let him lie to us long enough. Stop him.
What are specific decrees? If we have a mountain (challenge, situation) or a desire, we then tailor our decree to address it.
Zechariah 4:7
Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
God can’t be much clearer about how to address your mountains. This verse tells us your challenge or situation – mountain – will be leveled, not by your physical or mental efforts, but by shouting The Word of God, Grace, at it. Praise God we don’t have to toil to level the mountain. We have to decree The Word of God in faith and patiently wait for The Word to level it.
If I need healing for something, a mountain in my life, I will address the mountain directly. I speak directly to it. And I speak The Word of God, Grace, to it. By His stripes I was healed two thousand years ago, God has healed all my diseases, God has satisfied my mouth with good things so my youth is renewed like the eagles, God daily loadeth me with benefits, all things in this earth have been put under my feet, I have dominion over ALL things in this earth and in/on my body, there is no weapon formed by Satan or his kingdom that shall prosper against me, every voice Satan has used to judge me will be condemned (made to be a lie), my leaf also shall not wither, our health is restored by Your Word, You restore to me the years the locust (Satan) has eaten, etc. I speak these Words over and over throughout the day and week against the mountain. For instance, if it’s cancer, I speak to the cancer. Cancer, you are a thing, a name of the curse. All things are under my feet, and I have dominion over you because I’m in Jesus Christ and He is in me. You are a part of the curse from which Jesus Christ redeemed (purchased) me, and you CANNOT live in or on me. I curse you in the Name of Jesus Christ and command every cell of you to die, NOW, in the Name of Jesus Christ. From this moment on, I begin to praise God with His Own Word about me. Thank you Father I am healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ, that You healed all my diseases through Christ, that the anointing on me and in me destroys the cancer cells, that You sent Your Word, Jesus Christ, and healed me, that I’m to have length of days and long life and peace, that I have dominion over everything in this earth, and Your goodness and mercy follow me all the days of my life in this earth, etc., in The Precious Name of Jesus Christ.
I have a burden for Sisters and Brothers in Christ to learn THEY have control over their destiny according to our Father’s Word. So many sits around waiting for God to move or thinking their situation is God’s will for them. Both couldn’t be farther from The Truth. God’s foundational will for all Believers is found in III John 2.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Praise God my Father’s desire for us is to prosper materially and be in great physical health, all the days of our lives, even as our soul godly matures into understanding how to use the spiritual laws of The Kingdom of God, God’s Word, to bring this about. When we do this, we then truly become the light of God in this world.
