What is This Among So Much Grace!

Good Morning Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Our attitude makes all the difference in our day.  What is attitude?  The dictionary defines it as:  “a settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person’s behavior.

Our attitude is formed and affected daily by many things: culture, family, religion, education, environment, etc.  Simply put, our attitude is affected by the inputs to our thinking.  Our thinking leads to heart beliefs.  Our heart beliefs lead to what comes out of our mouth, our confession.  Our confession leads to the prophecy for our lives, our health, our finances, our success, our deliverance, our protection, our family, etc.  There are many, many scriptures that tell us we are what we speak – good or bad.

In many previous emails, the teaching from the Holy Spirit is we are to ignore feelings, the physical, and only observe, meditate, believe, confess, and act on what God’s Word has to say, the Spiritual.  This is not the way we have been programmed for many years.  This is why the Holy Spirit tells us, through Paul, in Romans 12:2, we must transform by renewing our minds – reprogramming our minds – to the Word of God.

Romans 12:2

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We’re not to be conformed to the world’s way of thinking, meditating, believing, confessing, and acting upon.  Rather, we are to be conformed to the Word of God – what it commands us to do.  If you will renew your mind in and by the Word of God, Joshua 1:8 tells you the results you’ll receive IN THIS WORLD.

Joshua 1:8

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Do you want your way on this earth to be prosperous and filled with good success?  Then do what God commands in this verse.  It really is this simple and clear.  You need a theologian and religion to help you mess it up.

Ok, we spoke of attitude.  Jesus gives us a PERFECT example of attitude in the wonderful Gospel of John 6.  We all have heard of Jesus feeding the 5000 (5000 men.  Doesn’t include the women and children.  Likely closer to 15,000).  From this miraculous accomplishment of Jesus, we learn an amazing Truth of the Kingdom of God.  It is only a miracle to the unsaved or to the carnal Believer.  It is everyday Truth and available to the committed Believer to do daily with consistency.

John 6:5-7

5 When Jesus then lifted up His eyes, and saw a great company come unto Him, He saith unto Philip, Whence [where] shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

6 And this He [Jesus] said to prove him [Phillip]: for He himself knew what He would do.

7 Philip answered Him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

We can see from John 6:5-7 Jesus already knew how He was going to do this, but He wanted to test Phillip and the Disciples to see if they had yet learned how to operate in the Kingdom of God.  As you can see, Phillip failed the test.  Immediately Phillip’s mind went to the natural or physical realm when thinking of how to feed the crowd.  Phillip was looking at what “they” had in the natural.  Two hundred pennyworth or about a year’s wages.

John 6:8-9

8 One of His [Jesus] disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto Him,

9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

Notice Andrew’s response and attitude:  “what is five loaves and two fishes among 5-15,000 people?”  Or, simply put, “what is this provision among so many needs?”  Again, entirely a worldly, natural, physical attitude and way of thinking.

I love Jesus’ response and attitude.  His response and attitude is to be OUR RESPONSE AND ATTITUDE in every single situation.

John 6:10-11

10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when He had given thanks, He distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

“And when He had given thanks..”  Jesus gave the Father “thanks” for such an abundance of grace.  Jesus’ attitude was, “what are all these needs among so much grace.”  Wow!!!  Jesus immediately went to the Spiritual realm, to God’s Word and invoked the grace of Almighty God.  The Disciples did just the opposite.  They went immediately to what they could see, what they knew in the worldly sense.  They were operating in Satan’s economy, the economy of this world.  Jesus operated in God’s economy which is part of the Kingdom of God.

In closing, let’s look at Ephesians 3:20.

Ephesians 3:20

Now unto Him [God] that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Our Father is able to do “exceeding abundantly” more than we can even imagine or ask.  In other words, there is absolutely no chance anyone will ever ask or think of something that God doesn’t have an infinite supply of to provide us.  Do you have the moxy to try and break the bank of God?  Why not?  We know we can’t, but why not try?  Why not take God up on His Word to us?  The “power” that worketh in us is faith.  We must learn to open our Spiritual eyes to see what God has already done for us.  Our faith doesn’t make what we need or desire.  As Hebrews 11:1 says, our faith substantiates what is already there and invisible.  In faith, we see and say, “thank you Father, I receive it in Jesus’ name!”

Have a wonderful and abounding week in our Lord and King Jesus Christ,

Larry
