Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
God, through Jesus Christ, has provided us with powerful Spiritual Laws which form His government in The Kingdom of God. Just as any government has laws, so does God’s Kingdom. These Spiritual Laws work on this earth just as they do in Heaven. This is why Jesus, in what is commonly known as “The Lord’s Prayer,” taught us “Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven…..” God’s will is His Spiritual Laws.
One of the Spiritual Laws, seldom used by Believers, is the “Law of Binding and Loosing.”
Matthew 18:18
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Notice what Jesus said….”whatsoever.” What is “whatsoever?” Yes, it is exactly what Jesus said – whatsoever. This means
anything.”
And “who” binds? You do. How do you bind? By speaking or decreeing it just as a king would give a decree or a general would give an order. And what would you speak? Only what God’s Word has to say – nothing else, nothing more.
God cannot bind or loose anything until YOU decree it. God cannot legally do it Himself (blows your mind, right. So different from what most of us have been taught). God is sovereign and answers to no one but His Word (Psalm 138:2; Psalm 89:34). God CANNOT break His Word else He would be a liar. Titus 1:2 tells us God cannot lie.
Let’s look at Matthew 18:18 in a little more detail.
“Bind” is the Greek word “deo,” which in Matthew 18:18 means “to forbid, prohibit, declare to be illicit.”
“Loose” is the Greek word “lyo,” which in Matthew 18:18 means “to declare lawful.”
What would be an example of how we use binding? We can bind disease, infirmity, bodily weakness, sickness, etc. from attacking our body, or if you have it already, from remaining alive and functioning in your body. You do so by decreeing the following:
Psalm 91:2-6
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.
3 Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler [temptations of Satan], and from the noisome pestilence [plague, illnesses, destruction].
4 He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror [dread, fear, anxiousness, demonic spirits] by night; nor for the arrow [words spoken against you by day] that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence [plague, illness] that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction [anything of great wasting] that wasteth at noonday.
I Peter 2:24
Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by Whose stripes ye were healed.
The stripes Jesus took at the scourging healed every single disease, infirmity, weakness, sickness, etc. you could or will have in your lifetime. Jesus took 39 stripes and there are 39 major categories of disease/sickness/infirmity in the world. Coincidence? I think not.
Psalm 103:5
Who [God] satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
God is stomping His foot like a teacher going over an upcoming test letting you know “HOW” you maintain your health, vitality, energy, youthfulness. He has given You His Word to speak over your body and mind. His Word, which is good things, satisfies your mouth.
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of Me, saith the LORD.
God makes it plain as day that no weapon, be it sickness, disease, infirmity, financial struggle, marriage struggle, unruly child, depression, etc., that Satan forms to harm your family or you can prosper or be successful against you if you believe God’s Word and decree it over yourself. Every person or entity to lies about you God will condemn by the Holy Spirit and expose their lie(s). Notice this is our heritage, or in other words, our inheritance, from our Father God.
Proverbs 3:1-2
1 My son, forget not My law; but let thine heart keep My commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
See below paragraph after I John 4:17.
III John 2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
God’s will for every Believer is to prosper financially and materially and have great health in this life on this earth. YOU DON’T NEED IT WHEN YOU GET TO HEAVEN. However, in order for this to happen, your soul (this means your heart or inner man) must first come to believe in this Truth and decree it over yourself and your family. Yes, it’s really this simple.
I John 4:17
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment [trial, affliction, persecution]: because as He [Christ] is, so are we in this world.
Wow, what a promise and gift! When we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, God made it so we are in this earth just as Jesus is in Heaven right now. Is Jesus sick? Tired? Broke? Depressed? Addicted? No, no, no, no, and no!! God The Father is telling us in this verse if you will believe this, you are just as Jesus is in Heaven.
The above list is just scratching the tip of the iceberg for promises God has made to us concerning our ability to walk through this world extremely healthy and enjoying long life (live many years), length of days (our days we live will be very healthy, with great vitality, energy, and physical abilities), and peace (Hebrew word is “shalom.” Look it up. It’s not peace in the sense of the natural, day-to-day world. It’s God’s peace which is The Blessing: wholeness, completeness, great health, prosperous, etc.). In faith we decree the above verses over ourselves, our bodies, our families, etc. It also applies to all other areas of our life, not just to our health.
What about “loosing.” Loosing is to “declare lawful.” How would we use this in our daily Christian walk? Satan and his “principalities, and powers, and rulers of darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12)” will do everything they can to stop us from realizing the promises of God to us. One such thing is to bind God’s blessings meant for you by influencing the people God has anointed or ordained to bless you. This is done by attacking the person’s mind with thoughts that are contrary to God’s will for this person to bless you. This can delay the person or cause the person to outright refuse or forget to do what God has put in their heart. And God uses saved and unsaved persons to bless us. We would “loose” the bind Satan or his demonic forces have over the blessing(s) due to us. You may have sown a seed for something in a prescribed period of time. If it hasn’t happened, it is either your faith that is the issue or Satan has bound it. If you can rule out your faith being the problem, it is Satan. You would then do the same thing you did when “binding.” Find Scripture in God’s Word that pertains to your situation and decree it while also commanding Satan and his demonic forces to take their hands and influence off your blessing(s) and the persons God has anointed or ordained to bless you.
The Spiritual Law of Binding and Loosing is so powerful. If you don’t believe it, then don’t waste your time with it. You have a faith issue. You can only hope for a miracle. God’s best for you is to walk in His Blessing daily and consistently and not have to depend on miracles. Notice Jesus never had an issue with His binding or loosing. Read the Gospels. Jesus used this law and the Spiritual Law of Agreement (Matthew 18:19) all the time. Notice one thing Jesus taught His disciples concerning the Law of Binding and Loosing.
Mark 3:27
No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
The “strong man” Jesus is referring to in this verse is Satan. The word “spoil” means to strip or take. How do you bind Satan? Yes, with the Word of God given as a decree or command.
What I’ve done here is introduce the Kingdom of God’s Spiritual Law of Binding and Loosing to you. It’s now up to you to study it further in the Word of God and through the Holy Spirit to learn how to use it to further the Kingdom of God on this earth and to fulfill the covenant God has with you through Jesus, the Seed of Abraham. Read Genesis 12:1-3. God has this covenant with you through Jesus, the Seed of Abraham. Once you understand it, every day will be exciting as you look for God’s blessings to overcome and overtake you (Deuteronomy 28:2).
Walk mighty in Jesus Christ’s name and take (bind) or take back (loose) your blessings.
In Christ,
Larry
