God Only Gives Good and Perfect Gifts

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Contrary to popular opinion in the secular world, and sadly, among many Believers, God only gives His Children good and perfect gifts.  God does NOT give us sickness, God does NOT give us struggles, God does NOT give us challenges, God does NOT take a relative, spouse, father, mother, or child away from us, God does NOT take finances from us, God does NOT take peace and joy from us, God does NOT harm us or punish us.  If you’ve been taught this or led to believe this, this is NOT true.  Let me show you from the Word of God.

James 1:17

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with Whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

This verse alone proves God can ONLY give us good and perfect gifts.  Very clearly, James 1:17 tells us, God’s Children, that every good and perfect gift we receive comes from God, the Father of lights.  We are the “lights.”  He is our Father.  The verse goes on to say, and this finishes and concludes it for me, “with Whom is NO variableness, neither shadow of turning.”  The Holy Spirit, through James, is telling us God is not variable.  This means “yes is yes and no is no.”  There is no “maybe.”  If God has said it, then it is so – period!  God doesn’t even turn the slightest bit to the left or right of what He has decreed in the Word of God.

Psalm 89:34

My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips.

How much clearer can God, our Father, be?  You have a blood covenant with God the Father through Jesus the Son.  If God breaks His covenant with you, He must die forever.  God tells us He WLL NOT alter what He has said.  God’s Word is established forever.

James 1:17 makes it clear God can only give us good and perfect gifts.  If God gives anything other than a gift, then He is being variable and turning to the left or right of His decreed Word.  This is made true because of the greatest gift He gave us, Jesus The Christ.

Romans 6:23 makes it very clear that God only gives good and perfect gifts.  What we deserved was cursing and eternal death and damnation.  What our Father gave us is blessing and eternal life through the gift of Jesus Christ.  Let me make this VERY clear.  If God gave anything other than good and perfect gifts, He would give us our deserved wages of spiritual death.  Instead, He gave us the good and perfect gift of eternal life, blessing, and righteousness.  Why?  Because He has bound Himself by His Word that He can only give us good and perfect gifts.  Amen!!

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Acts 2:38

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Romans 5:17

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.)

Notice in Romans 5:17 “we,” the Believers, are to “reign” in life by Jesus Christ.  What are we to reign over?  The abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness.  We are to reign over the abundance of “unmerited, unearned, undeserved favor” and over the gift of “right standing before God, which is to be very prosperous spiritually, financially, materially, and physically.”  We are to be a blessing to the earth and to the families of the earth (Genesis 12:2-3).  You’ll never be the blessing you’ve been commanded to be if you don’t reign according to God’s definition of “reigning.”

James 1:13 makes it clear that God cannot be tempted with evil, neither does He tempt any man with evil.  Is giving us a sickness or a disease evil?  Is killing a loved one evil?  Is giving us struggles evil?  Is causing us financial struggles to test us evil?  Of course – AND GOD CANNOT DO IT AND HE DOES NOT DO IT.  He is bound by His Word.  If God were to give us sickness, as some doctrines teach, for His glory and honor, or to teach us, GOD WOULD BE TEMPTING US WITH EVIL.  I pray you see this with your spiritual eyes, ears, and heart.

James 1:13

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth He any man:

If you go to the Greek (New Testament written in Greek; Old Testament in Hebrew) and look up James 1:13, you will see that “tempteth” is the Greek word “Peirazo,” which means, “to make proof of, to attempt, to test (in a negative sense), to tempt.”

If God were to give sickness, disease, take a loved one, take your money, etc. to supposedly teach you something or for God to get the glory, etc., then God would be “making proof of” or “testing in a negative sense.”  HE CANNOT DO IT.  Don’t be fooled by the ignorant, the rebellious, or the depraved and their teachings.  Your Father God only gives good and perfect gifts to His Children.

Matthew 7:11

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him?

In closing, the following verse from Ecclesiastes sums up what God has given to His Children to enjoy on this earth – YES, IN THIS LIFE and IN THE LIFE TO COME.

Ecclesiastes 5:19

Every man also to whom [this is to Believers] God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor; this is the gift of God.

God has given you the good and perfect gift of riches and wealth and the power to eat of it, to take your portion of the riches and wealth and rejoice in it.  I’ve covered this extensively in the past.  If you’re not enjoying what Ecclesiastes 5:19 says you are to be enjoying, then enquire of the Holy Spirit “why?”  He will teach and show you why and how to receive your “GIFT” of righteousness from God.  You can’t be a blessing until you allow God to bless you – according to His definition of blessing which is found in Ecclesiastes 5:19.

Blessings to All in the Name of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
