Do You Really Know The Name?

Good Morning Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

What do you know about the Name “Jesus Christ?”  Yes, He is the Son of God and the Son of man.  Yes, He came to the earth.  Yes, He died for the remission of all mankind’s sins.  Yes, He did miracles.  Yes, He preached and taught the Word of God.  Yes, He was both man and God.  Yes, He is coming back.  Yes, He is our Savior.  Yes, we are to make our decrees in the name of Jesus Christ.  But, my question to you is – DO YOU REALLY KNOW THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST?  Most Believers DON’T know the Name, “Jesus Christ.”

I can figuratively see the puzzled expressions on your faces.  Yes, I do know His Name, I do know who He is, and yes, I do know what He has done and will do.  However, my next question to you is if you know the Name “Jesus Christ,” then why are you sick, why are you struggling financially, why is your marriage struggling, why are your children wayward, why do you have fear, why are you not experiencing your desires, why isn’t your personal ministry blossoming?  I know, these are tough and hard to accept words.  In fact, you may even be angry with me after reading this so far.  But, I write these words in absolute love for you and yours in Christ.  I write these words because I, too, didn’t really know the Name of “Jesus Christ.”  Yes I was saved, yes I was studying His Word, yes I was living and teaching His Word.  But, God, my precious Father, and Jesus, my precious Brother, had to teach me I didn’t really know or understand His Name.  And, because I didn’t truly know His Name, I wasn’t experiencing the successful consistency in my walk with Him.  You see, we are called to get the same results God did in everything we decree.  God never said anything that didn’t happen.  And, we are to decree in the Name of Jesus Christ and get results, every time.

John 14:13-14

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall ask any thing in My Name, I will do it.

We have to ask ourselves, “does ‘whatsoever’ you ask in Jesus’ Name happen for you?”  If most of us are honest, the answer is no.  God has taught me this should not be so as long as we are asking according to His will and believing in faith we shall receive it.  Jesus said in John 14:12 we are to do the works He did while on earth, and even greater works, because we have the Holy Spirit within us (if you study the Greek, Jesus was talking to ALL who believed in Him for in that time and until the end of the present earth).  Did Jesus ever not get what He decreed?  No, not once.  We are to have the same results as Jesus did.

Philippians 2:9-10

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a Name which is above every name:

10 That at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

God had to teach me the Name of Jesus Christ had become trite, or so common place to me, that I didn’t heed the great power and authority in it.  He had to show me that when I said it, it was not with expectation or with demand.  I was just tagging it on to the end of the prayer without really considering, meditating the power and authority of the name.

Look at John 14:13-14.  In both verses is the word “ask” or the Greek word, “aiteo.”  This word means, “a demand of something that is due.”  Let’s rephrase the verses with this definition in mind.

John 14:13-14

13 And whatsoever ye shall demand that is due you in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14 If ye shall demand that which is due you in My Name, I will do it.

Understand, we are NOT demanding of God.  Why?  Because He has already done it.  God has already prospered you, healed you, delivered you, and protected you through the finished works of Jesus Christ.  He doesn’t need to do anything else for you.  YOU need to take that which He has already given you.

So, what are we demanding in the Name of Jesus Christ?  We are demanding Satan and his demonic forces take their hands off what is due us – our healing, our prosperity, our loving marriages, our saved and serving family, our business or job success, etc.  Jesus is not withholding it from you.  He wants you to have it!!!!!  Satan is withholding it through spiritual blindness, ignorance of the Word, fear, doubt, unbelief, pride, etc.

What about that Name, Jesus Christ?  The Name of Jesus is the Greek form of the Hebrew name “Joshua.”  “Joshua” translates to the Hebrew “Yahweh Saves” or “Yahweh is Salvation.”  “Christ” is actually Jesus’ title.  In Greek, it is “Christos,” and it means, “the Anointed One.”  In Hebrew, it means, “Messiah.”  So, said appropriately, it is “Jesus the Christ.”

What does “anointed” mean?  “To set apart or consecrate.”

Acts 10:38

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.

We can see from Acts 10:38 God set apart Jesus and consecrated Him [anointed Him] with the Holy Ghost and power.  Why?  So Jesus could go and do good for all that would receive Him and heal all that were oppressed of the devil.  Heal what?  Not just sickness, disease, and infirmities, but He also healed relationships, finances, marriages, broken souls, the depressed, the hopeless, the poor, etc.

So, the Word, Jesus the Christ, tells us in John 14:13-14 we are to demand what is due us in His Name.  Why?  Because His Name, The Word, is anointed with the Holy Ghost and power.  But, we have to believe His Name is truly endued with the Holy Ghost and power and that when we demand in His Name, it is done.  We have whatever things we ask of Him.

Mark 11:24

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Let me briefly say the word “desire” found in Mark 11:24 is not there in the Greek.  Desire, in today’s “religious” world implies things we may or may not receive.  This IS NOT what God’s Word truly says.  In the Greek, its says, “Because of this I say to you whatever all things also you ask praying believe that you receive and it will be to you.”  God said nothing about desires.  He said, “WHATEVER ALL THINGS.”  I pray you receive a spiritual revelation of this in your soul.  You can have whatever you want according to the will of God.  III John 2 tells you His will for you.

One thing the Holy Spirit showed me several years back is Satan is busy “watering” down or “diluting” the Word of God.  Why?  Because He knows the power of the Word and the Name.  What the Holy Spirit showed me recently is Satan is redefining words.  For example, when you read the word “hope” in the Word, what do you normally think?  I remember being confused years back reading God’s Word and seeing “hope” used.  Why?  Because “hope,” in today’s vernacular or definition means or implies “maybe.”  In the scriptures, the Word “hope” means “certainty.”  Now, doesn’t “certainty” mean something entirely different than “maybe?”  I encourage you when you read the Word or study it, use the Webster 1828 dictionary (find it online) to look up definitions.  This version of Webster’s dictionary was completely based on the scriptures.  It will be an immense help to you in truly understanding what the scriptures are saying.  Now when I read the Word “hope,” I know it means “certainty” or “something I can absolutely count on occurring.”

So, in closing, what is the Name “Jesus Christ” to you?  Is it an expression you throw on the end of prayers because everyone else does it?  Is it because you read or heard you should say it to be right with God?  Or is it because you truly realize the power and authority given in THAT NAME?  When we use the Name of Jesus Christ, we must use it in faith.  Faith that the Name “Jesus Christ” truly is anointed by God the Father with the Holy Ghost and power.  Through our faith in the Name above all names, we can do ALL things through the Name of Jesus Christ that strengthen us (Philippians 4:13).  Meditate on the Name, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the Name to you, and use the Name with great power and authority.  Get the results God has said you are privileged and honored to have in the Name of Jesus Christ.  Get the results Jesus Christ did, as He commanded you in John 14:12-15.

Much love in Christ,

Larry
