Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
I pray you are declaring, receiving, and walking in the wonderful Blessing and promises of our Father God through Jesus Christ. It is our inheritance and our heritage given to us by The Father before the foundation of the world. By faith you can enjoy the inheritance and the heritage given us in God’s Word the very moment you receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, Lord, and King.
The Sabbath Day, or Shabbat in Hebrew, as set apart by God, is the last day of the week. This is Saturday according to Jewish tradition. The purpose of the Sabbath is a day of rest, one devoted to remembering the blessings of the Lord, worship of the Lord, prayer, spending time in The Word. But there is also another purpose for the Sabbath. It is a shadow of things to come.
When God created all things, the seventh day, the Sabbath, was set aside as an Age of Rest. Not rest because God was weary or tired. It was a rest signifying all was completed, finished. It literally was a time for man to fellowship with God, The Father, work the assignment God had given man, to dress the Garden, and to enjoy the provision God had given to man, which was literally created by speaking The Word in faith. I won’t address it here, but God’s definition of “work” and the natural man’s definition of “work” are two, entirely different things at the opposite end of the spectrum from each other. Natural man’s definition of work entails sweat, labor, anxiety, fear, pain, toil, etc. God’s definition of “work” has NO sweat, toil, labor, fear, anxiety, pain, etc. Natural man’s definition of work is based on Satan’s economic system of “Supply and Demand.” I know. We didn’t realize that in school and university we were being taught how to work in Satan’s economy. No one taught me God’s economy of “Sowing and Reaping.”
Proverbs 10:22
The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow [toil, anxiety, labor, sweat, fear] with it. (brackets mine)
Notice that Proverbs 10:22 says “The Blessing….IT maketh rich, and God adds no sorrow with it. What was the first Words Adam heard upon his creation? Yes, The Blessing of the Lord.
Everything God did in the Book of Beginnings, Genesis, is a shadow of things to come. If you haven’t studied Genesis, I HIGHLY recommend it. Genesis is the foundation, or the anchor, of the rest of The Word of God.
We are taught by The Word of God, at the end of 6,000 years, the earth will enter the Sabbath Age, the Age of Shabbat. We also know it as the “Millennial Age.” As the Sabbath is set aside from all other days of the week, so, too, is the Sabbath Age set apart from all other ages. It is the Age of The Lord, the age of rest. Nations will rest from war, the Jewish people will no longer be burdened by Satan or the world, peace will cover the earth, The Blessing of the Lord will flourish, and the lion will lie down with the calf. Jesus will rule over the earth from His throne in Jerusalem, and He will enforce the rule of God’s Word in the earth. Yes, we will be with Him, returning after the Tribulation is ended and Satan, the Anti-Christ, and the Beast are chained in the earth for these 1,000 years.
What is most important to us, as Believers, concerning the Sabbath Age, is the fact that Jesus, the Son of Man, is The Lord of the Sabbath.
Mark 2:28
Therefore the Son of Man is Lord also of the sabbath.
So, what does Jesus being The Lord of the Sabbath have to do with us, as Believers, here and now? Isn’t that when we come back to reign on earth with Jesus in the Millennial Age? What good does it do me now? Great questions for which there is a GREATER answer. As Jesus, the Son of Man, will be Lord over the Sabbath Age, if YOU have made Him, the Messiah, Lord over your life, you are able to live in the Sabbath Age’s blessings now! In other words, when you made Jesus Christ the King and Lord of your life, your Sabbath Age begin that moment. The Sabbath Age, the Millennial Reign, The Blessing will be enforced in the earth by Jesus. You have it freely, now, praise God! For where Jesus is Lord, there is the Kingdom, and there is the Sabbath Rest.
We are given a clear, New Covenant, commandment by God The Father in Hebrews 4:10-11 to cease our own works and attempts at righteousness and enter into Jesus’ rest.
Hebrews 4:10-11
10 For he [Larry] that is entered into His [Jesus’] rest, he [Larry] also hath ceased from his [Larry’s] own works, as God did from His. (brackets mine)
11 Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Simply put, the Holy Spirit, through Paul, is saying in Hebrews 4:10 that we are to completely and utterly depend upon, and REST in, the “FINISHED” works of Jesus Christ. There is absolutely NOTHING that you/we can do to add to that which Jesus has done. So, why struggle, labor, toil, sweat, fear, etc. and not just enter into His rest, the finished works of Jesus Christ? I don’t toil, I sow and reap. Supply and Demand is for the world. There are NO supply chain issues in the Kingdom of God. If I have The Word of God, faith, and a seed, I can have any supply I need or desire. Those aren’t my words, they’re The Word of God. And my wife and I are living proof of this Truth. It has always worked in our lives once we learned and practiced it in faith.
In closing, YOU have a choice to enter the Age of Shabbat – the Sabbath of Rest. Or you can remain in the bondage of Satan’s economy. God is a Gentleman. He is not going to twist your arm. He gave YOU free will. You can choose to “fall after the same example of unbelief” as spoken in Hebrews 4:11 or you can “enter into His rest and cease from your own vain works.” I pray you’ll make a quality decision to enter into the Sabbath of Rest – now.
In Christ,
Larry
