Are You a Tree Planted By The Rivers of Water?

Dear Sister and Brother in Christ,

The world is a crazy place right now.  Evil is increasing daily and accelerating.  And I say, “Praise the Lord.”  How can I say this?  Because I know the Truth.  I know the “expected end” of a righteous man or woman.  It doesn’t matter how evil or how crazy this world becomes, I still know the “expected end.”  Let me encourage you by sharing God’s Word and the “expected end” for those that are righteous in the earth.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Psalm 37:37

Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

In the preceding two verses the Lord God Almighty tells His Children, the Believers, you and me, He has an expected end for us which is peace.  Now “peace” in both verses is the Hebrew word “shalom.”  Shalom means “completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, and the absence of agitation or discord.”  Wow, this is what our Father has ordained and anointed for us as Believers.  How awesome is this!!

Let’s delve further into the “expected end” or “shalom” to get an even more vivid picture or vision for what the Father has for us, His children.

Jeremiah 17: 7-8, 12

7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

12 A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.

Let’s start with the word, “blessed.”  Blessed means you are “empowered by God to prosper.”  Not just prosper materially and financially, but the Believer will also prosper spiritually, physically, in their marriage, in their relationship with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, in their favor among men, in their job or business, in whatever they put their hand to in their life.  However, there are two conditions to being blessed by God:  trusting in God and making God your hope.  Remember Biblical “hope” is not the definition of “hope” today.  Hope today is 50/50.  Biblical “hope” is a surety, a guarantee, a certainty, it will happen.  If you don’t trust God’s Word, and believe with your whole heart His promises to you, you will not be able to utilize the power God has given you to prosper.  Faith, faith, faith!

Notice the blessed man will be like a tree planted by the “waters,” not “water.”  More than one stream to supply your need ensuring you will never have dryness or a drought, lacking anything in your life.  The “waters” and the “river” in verse 8 speak of the Holy Spirit and the abundance of provision.  Notice you’ll spread out your roots by the river.  This corresponds with Colossians 2:7.

Colossians 2:7

Rooted and built up in him [Christ], and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Notice we are to be “rooted and built up in Christ.”  In Jeremiah 17:8, you will spread your roots deep into the Word Jesus Christ.  What happens when we do this?  Our faith grows.

Romans 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

I love the promise of Jeremiah 17:8 if we, as trees, spread our roots deep into the ground, The Word, Jesus Christ.  We “shall not see when the heat cometh.”  “Heat” represents the troubles and challenges the world faces.  Is the world facing troubles and challenges now?  YES!!  However, we are to be like a person in the eye of a hurricane.  We can see what is happening around us, but we are not affected by it.  Notice also that “our leaf shall be green.”  “Leaf” spoken of in this verse refers to your body, your health.  We all know a green leaf is healthy.  When the leaf becomes discolored during the Spring and Summer, there is something wrong.  Jeremiah 17:8 tells us we’ll live in divine, wonderful health.

We “shall not be careful in the year of drought.”  Ha, this Administration’s inflation and recession, completely brought on by their evil motivations and decisions, are not to affect us.  The Scriptures, throughout, tell us we, as Believers, are not subject to this world’s economy and drivers of it, unless we subject ourselves to it through a lack of faith in The Word of God.  If you don’t believe The Word, you will be subject to what happens to the world.  It’s truly this simple.

The verse goes on to tell us we will not cease to yield fruit.  This means because we believe the promises of God through His Word, we’ll yield the peaceable fruit of faith – consistently and constantly.  No matter what is occurring in the world whether it be diseases, pandemics, recessions, inflation, wars, civil strife, discontent, etc., we shall view it from the peaceable, lush banks of the river in a canopy of protection with everything we need and desire as well as an abundance to be the blessing we are called to be to the world in Genesis 12:2-3.  Again, like being in the eye of a hurricane.  Or, better yet, Psalm 23.

Lastly, look at Jeremiah 17:12.  I really hope you get the significance of this verse.  Look at your beginning, as a Believer, according to God The Father.  Your start is at a glorious high throne.  Psalm 91 tells us we “dwell in the secret place of the Most High under the shadow of The Almighty.”  This is the glorious high throne that is the place of our sanctuary.  Nothing can touch you if you ABIDE there.  You can’t run in and run out of the throne room and expect to ABIDE.  ABIDE means to remain there, in Christ Jesus.

So, we have a decision to make – a quality decision.  We will either be fully persuaded of God’s Truths, or we’ll rely on our wisdom and the wisdom of the world.  You can’t be half in and half out.  You either in or out.  This is how faith works.  YOU MUST BE FULLY PERSUADED.  There is no, “well, I hope so,” or “If it’s His will,” or “I’ll give it a shot,” or “I’m believing for.”  It’s “I know,” and “I’m fully persuaded,” and “His Word says,” and “This shall be,” and “As He is so am I in this world.”  End of conversation.  There is no debating, no hemming and hawing, and no doubt.  Stop paying attention to silly and foolish rituals of men and religion.  Get into The Word and prosper.  Joshua 1:8 is VERY CLEAR about the outcome of studying, meditating, confessing, believing, and receiving God’s Word.

Joshua 1:8

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Have a wonderful day and weekend in Christ Jesus.
