Are You Contending?

Good Morning My Brothers in Christ,

God is so gracious and good!!  I pray you are believing, confessing, and receiving the incredible riches of God He has for you in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).  You are blessed with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus by God (Ephesians 1:3).  Remember, nothing can exist in the physical realm that didn’t come from the spiritual realm.  You can’t be blessed, physically, unless it has come from the spiritual realm.  God makes this very clear in Hebrews 11:3:

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

This verse makes it clear that what you can physically see was made by things you can’t see.  These “things” exist in the spiritual realm.

And, God is begging you to let Him bless you with healing, deliverance, protection, and prosperity.

III John 2

Beloved [puts us in the same class as Jesus Christ], I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

This is God’s will for you and your life.

I can’t tell you how many Believers I speak to who just can’t bring themselves to believe this verse.  Yes, they believe that God can prosper and heal others, but not them.  Or, they are foolish [ignorant of God’s Word] and don’t believe this applies to their earthly, physical life as well as the spiritual. Just a minor amount of study of each word in III John 2 would prove this to a Believer.  It will be foolishness to a non-Believer.  Sadly, it is foolishness to a lot of Believers too.  This breaks our Father’s heart.

In Jude 3, we are commanded to “earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”  Jude 4 goes on to say “certain men crept in, unnoticed, who are ungodly men and speak against grace and deny the gospel of our Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Contend = “To strive; to use earnest efforts to obtain, or to defend and preserve.”

Are you contending for the faith?  Are you making earnest [ardent in the pursuit of an object; eager to obtain; having a longing desire; warmly engaged or incited] efforts to seek the Lord and the revelation knowledge of His Word and to defend and preserve His Word?  If you’re not, then you’re not “contending for the faith.”  I’m sorry if this offends anyone.  It is not my intent.  I only write that which the Holy Spirit places on my heart.  I’ve had to examine myself to see if I’m earnestly contending for the faith according to God’s standard – not man’s standard.

Are all of your prayers answered?  Yes, all of them.  All of Jesus’ prayers were answered, and He modeled the exact life we are to be living, today, as we walk with God, our Father.  God answers every single prayer.  I can prove it to you over and over again in scripture.

I John 5:14-15

And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us:

And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

What is God’s will for you in III John 2?  As Andrew Wommack would say, this is so clear and plain that you have to have someone help you mess it up.  But, this is exactly what has and is happening according to Jude 3 and 4.  Because Believers are largely NOT contending for the faith, the church as drifted into moral decay turning away from the Word of God.  Brothers, our Father doesn’t care about someone’s interpretation, opinions, or preferences, the Word of God is infallible, incorruptible, and established.  Homosexuality is an abomination; abortion is murder; gay marriage is an abomination; the world and worlds were created in six literal days; Adam was created from dust and breathed into by God to become a living soul; Eve was made from man; there is no evolution; the fossil record in the earth is 4,300 years old and not a day older; there is one race, but many groups of man; there are two spiritual races (saved and unsaved), etc.

We are to search out God’s Word to receive revelation knowledge, and we are to defend and preserve it.  This is what God has called all of us to do.  We are to be on the offensive and not on the defensive.  We are to be out in the world letting our light shine, not hiding in the church or hiding our faith from the secular world because we may be prosecuted or made fun of by the unsaved and even the saved.  Believe me, who persecuted Jesus more, the religious or the sinners.  We just had a leader of a large faith denomination deny the existence of hell when Jesus, Himself, spoke and warned of hell.  This is anti-Christ, going against God’s established Word.  What did Satan do in the Garden?  He twisted God’s Word and deceived Eve.

We will be learning about prayer in the Thursday, May 10th, Caleb’s Promise meeting at 1PM in the University Club of Tampa, Ybor Room.  A little teaser for what the Holy Spirit will teach us:  the Greek word for prayer means “interacting with our Father.”  Is reading God’s Word interacting with our Father?  Is meditating interacting with our Father?  Is singing or humming a song to our Father interacting with Him?  Is speaking in tongues interacting with our Father?  Is decreeing God’s Word over your family, situation, etc., interacting with our Father?  Yes to all of these and more.  Now that you understand this, do you see how Paul could say in I Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray without ceasing.”  It doesn’t mean to literally be in the church’s idea of what prayer is without ceasing.  It means anything you do to interact with our Father is prayer.  Therefore, you CAN pray without ceasing.  Amazing what a little study and earnest contention for the faith will reveal.

Love to all of you.  Father, I bless my sweet brothers in the name of Jesus Christ, our elder brother and King.  Thank you for their heart’s desire to love you and to bring Your Kingdom to this earth.  I bind and rebuke the spirits of spiritual blindness, religious contention, false religions, spiritual wickedness in high places, and rulers of darkness of this world from stealing Your Word away from my brothers and their families.  You’ve given us all power and authority in this earth to operate as our King, Jesus Christ, did.  Help us Father, through revelation knowledge, to see we can do everything Jesus did while on earth, and greater things.  Help us contend for the power of Your faith in us to step out in faith and do these very same things.  Help us to do signs and wonders that our light might shine in a dark and getting darker world.  Father, we rejoice that as it gets darker, the light SHINES even brighter.  Help us to stand in the gap so the day we stand before You, we hear You say, “well done my good and faithful son.”  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

In Christ,

Larry
