Believe the Truth to Enjoy Your Righteousness

Good Morning Sisters and Brothers in Jesus Christ,

The cornerstone of God’s will for Believers is III John 2:

III John 2

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

I’ve discussed this verse several times in the past.  When you look at the Greek, “prosper” is to materially prosper, be in “health” is to have great physical health, and

The cornerstone of how to receive God’s will for you is Matthew 6:33:

Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Jesus spoke the Words of Matthew 6:33 which most Believers have heard at one time or another in their churches.  What did Jesus mean when He spoke this verse, and how does it impact you?  I’ll give you a hint.  This verse is the CORNERSTONE of receiving that which God has already given you – “all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”

Jesus instructs us to seek “what” first?  Yes, the Kingdom of God AND His righteousness.  After your salvation, that is accepting and acknowledging Jesus Christ as your Redeemer and the Lord of your life, the next thing you are to do as a Believer is “seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.”  What is the “Kingdom of God” and why do we need to “seek His righteousness” if we already received it at salvation?

The “Kingdom of God,” as explained in previous emails, is not a place.  The Kingdom of Heaven is a place.  The Kingdom of God is in our hearts (Luke 17:21).  What is the Kingdom of God?  It is God’s government or how we, as Believers, are to operate as ambassadors in this earth.  We are to operate the Spiritual Laws of God’s Kingdom (i.e., Law of Faith, Law of Sowing and Reaping, Law of Confession, Law of Agreement, Law of Restoration) to bring God’s promises to pass in our lives on this earth.

“Righteousness” is our “right standing” with God because of and through Jesus Christ.  So, what is our “right standing?”  Most Believers can tell you that our right standing is “forgiven of all sin, eternal life, going to Heaven upon death or the Rapture, and blessed.”  But most can tell you little else.  All that is listed is true, but it is only scratching the surface of our right standing.  God’s righteousness or right standing is also that we are “protected, delivered, prospered, and healed.”  In other words, righteousness or right standing is our identity in Christ.  WHO ARE YOU IN CHRIST?  Jesus, in Matthew 6:33 is telling Believers they need to learn how to operate the Spiritual Laws of the Kingdom of God and who they are in Him.  If you don’t understand who you are in Christ, the authority and power you are given, you will not understand how to operate in His Kingdom nor will you have the faith to do so.

Once a Believer understands how the Kingdom of God works and who they are in Jesus Christ, they can operate just as Jesus did while on this earth and get the same results – consistently.  Jesus even tells us this in John 14:12

John 14:12

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father.

Now, just to avoid any confusion, as Believers who understand the Kingdom of God and our identity in Jesus Christ, we can operate just as Jesus did.  However, our successful operation of the Kingdom’s spiritual laws is done by God through us.

John 14:10

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of Myself: but the Father that dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works.

We can see Jesus clearly identifies Who is doing the works in Him – God.  If Jesus was able to do everything because God was in and with Him, we can do so as well.  We are given everything Jesus was and is given.  Therefore, Jesus said what He said in John 14:12.

At the end of the day, as it is with everything to do with God’s Word, either you believe, or you don’t.  If I don’t believe something in God’s Word because of my opinion or what I was taught by my church or denomination, that doesn’t change the fact God’s Word is still Truth.  There are many denominations, churches, and clergy teaching things entirely at odds with God’s Word.  Because they are doing this, and it is popular with the congregation, does this make it Truth?  Of course not.  God can only do the works through you if you have faith in HIS WORD – not the word of the denomination, church, or clergy.  I pray you’ll choose to believe the Word of God over the half-or-untruths of Satan.  He is a sly but defeated enemy.  Don’t allow him to place you under bondage.

In Christ,

Larry
