Good Morning Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
I’m sure the title of this message raised your eyebrow. Believers can never have an original thought. Why would I say something like this? And, why wouldn’t Believers have original thoughts? Let’s see what The Word of God says.
Ecclesiastes 1:9-10
9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
Solomon, led by the Holy Spirit, wrote the Book of Ecclesiastes, among other books. Solomon, declared by God’s Word, is the wisest and the richest man, besides Jesus Christ, that ever, and will ever, live on this earth. Solomon’s net worth today would be 2 to 2.5 trillion dollars. He would laugh at the pauper multi-billionaires of today. Solomon’s wisdom and wealth came from God WHO has no respect of persons (Acts 10:34). Hmmmm. Are you thinking what I’m thinking?
In Ecclesiastes 1:9-10, Solomon is stating every idea that man comes up with has already been thought. I know, I said the same thing. “How can this be seeing man is still inventing things?” The Holy Spirit taught me that all gifts, good and perfect, come from The Father (James 1:17). All things that are not good and perfect come from Satan. God creates life because He is life, light, and love. Satan cannot create anything or birth anything because he is death, darkness, and hate. God has already thought AND decreed ALL things good and perfect. Satan can only take that which is life, light, and love and pervert it into death, darkness, and hate. Notice in verse 10, Solomon says, “….it hath been already of old time, which was before us.” “Us” who? Before man. The only thing before man was God. God is The He of “old time.”
What we learn from God’s Word is there are ONLY two kinds of thought in this world: God’s and Satan’s. The Word of God is God’s thoughts and ways, and the wisdom of the world is Satan’s thoughts and ways. It is really this simple. Black and white. There is absolutely no grey area. A man or woman’s thoughts are going to be established upon the foundation of God’s Word or upon the foundation of the world’s wisdom, Satan’s word. No matter how hard someone tries to argue against this, there are ONLY two schools of thinking in this earth.
Proverbs 16:3
Commit thy works unto The LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
Notice in Proverbs 16:3 if we commit our works unto The Lord, God will establish our thoughts. Not Satan and not we ourselves. God. If I commit my business and my daily dealings in the business unto God, He has promised to establish my thoughts about the business. He has promised me if I need wisdom for the business, I can get it from Him daily.
James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, That giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
What’s not to understand about James 1:5? The question is, “do you believe He’s given you wisdom when you ask for it, or is there some doubt in your heart?” “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump (Galatians 5:9).” The doubt negates you receiving the wisdom. You just have to believe you have it, in faith, and move on.
Proverbs 8:32
Now therefore hearken unto Me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep My ways.
Notice in Proverbs 8:32 that “hearkening,” or listening to, and obeying The Word of God blesses you. Blessing is God “empowering you to prosper.” God clearly tells us if we keep His ways, we’re blessed. This means we must think like God thinks. In Psalm 37:5, God tells us He will bring to pass the way we’ve committed to Him through trust in His Word. We just read in Proverbs 8:32 those that keep God’s ways are blessed. When we “commit our way unto The Lord and trust also in Him,” as Psalm 37:5 states, God’s ways, His Word, becomes our thoughts, our words, and our ways.
Psalm 37:5
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.
The following verses all command us to have God’s thoughts, His thinking, about all things. I love Proverbs 4:18 where God states, “The” path we walk, as committed Believers, shines more and more until the Rapture when we become perfect in Spirit, soul, and flesh (perfect day). This means we’ll be doing the works Jesus did and greater works than these (John 14:12) until we leave this earth.
Proverbs 4:26
Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
Proverbs 3:6
In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 4:18
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
Proverbs 2:6
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
In closing, notice Proverbs 2:6. God has given us knowledge and understanding through His written Word. We get wisdom by following James 1:5 and Hebrews 11:6. Wisdom can only come after we’ve meditated on knowledge and understanding. Solomon said it best when he said, “…there is no new thing under the sun.” The Holy Spirit has now made us aware and accountable to the fact there are only two schools of thought in this earth: God’s Word or the world’s (Satan’s) wisdom. Man, nor Believers, can have original thought.
Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
God is plainly telling us in Deuteronomy 30:19 to choose life, which is His thoughts and His ways – found in His Word. If we choose God’s Word for our situations, our thoughts shall be established in life and blessing. If we choose the world’s wisdom for our situations, we’ll receive the opposite which is death and cursing. Let’s choose His Word, God’s thoughts, so that both we and our seed may prosper mightily in this earth according to God’s Blessing and will.
In Christ,
Larry
