Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
In the previous three messages, we’ve been addressing asking and decreeing. We finished up with “what and when we ask.” Now we shift to “what and when we decree.”
What is a “decree?” The King James Dictionary defines “decree” as:
DECREE
1. To determine judicially; to resolve by sentence; as, the court decreed that the property should be restored; or they decreed a restoration of the property.
2. To determine or resolve legislatively; to fix or appoint; to set or constitute by edict or in purpose.
DECREED
Determined judicially; resolved; appointed; established in purpose.
Notice “to decree” is “to determine, to resolve.” “Decreed” is “determined, resolved, appointed, established.”
Job 22:28
Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light [Hebrew = light of prosperity] shall shine upon thy ways.
The Holy Spirit instructs us to “decree.” Once we “decree,” it is considered “decreed,” which means the “decree” is now “established unto us.”
What are we to decree? God’s Word and ONLY God’s Word. Jesus told us in John 6:63 The Word is Spirit and Truth. Anything else is of the spirit of the world which is Satan.
Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
God, The Father, is making it VERY clear creation itself is recording every word we speak (heaven and earth). The Father has given us FREE WILL to make a choice as to what we will speak: blessing or cursing. The Father urges us to “CHOOSE LIFE.” Which words have life in them? The Word of God. The word of the world has NO life in it, only death.
Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
The Father, again, makes it perfectly clear it is OUR tongue that bring us death or life, cursing or blessing. We cannot blame it on our mothers, our fathers, our upbringing, “the man,” our culture, our schools, the government, our boss, etc. We, and we only, are the prophets of our own earthly and eternal destiny. Period! And we owe it all to our tongue.
Proverbs 18:20
A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled.
Look at what God has to say one verse earlier. Abundance or lack in our lives – physically, financially, materially, spiritually – has to do ONLY with our tongue. Uncomfortable, isn’t it? Words have value in this earth: blessing or cursing. Which are you speaking over yourself and your family?
Ecclesiastes 10:7-8
7 I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.
8 He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.
These two verses are amazing. The Holy Spirit is teaching us there is a real problem in this earth according to our Father. We, the princes, are walking, while the world, our servant, is riding our horse. Why? The next verse makes it clear. Because of our wrong speaking, we are digging a pit for ourselves into which we fall. In other words, we are what we speak; we’re eating the fruit of what we’ve spoken, what we’ve sown. It states a serpent shall bite the one that breaketh a hedge. What in the world does this mean?
In the Book of Job Chapter One, verse 10, Satan replies to God, “Hast not thou made an hedge about him [Job] and his house, and about all that he hath on every side?” Yes, by our words, The Word of God, we can create the hedge of God about us. By our words we can break the hedge and the serpent [Satan, who is death and the curse] bites us just like Proverbs 18:21 states. By our words we can either bless or curse ourselves according to Deuteronomy 30:19. We, as Believers, need to take our rightful position as princes of God in this earth and put the world in its place as our servants. If you have an issue with this, then you have an issue with God who said:
Psalm 82:6
I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the Most High.
And Jesus said:
John 10:34
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
I love Jesus stating “I said” to the Pharisees, the religious bigots. This really ticked them off. But Jesus is making the point that we are little “g” gods in this earth. God, The Father, made us, the Believers, gods in this earth. He gave us the authority and power in the Name of Jesus Christ to rule this earth. Sadly, few are doing it. Jesus will set this right in the Millennial Reign. He will rule the earth with a rod of iron.
There are many, many more verses I could cite that state we are the prophets of our lives, and our destinies are determined by our words. God gave us this ability, as gods, to decree and establish what we decree according to His Word. Now, what do we decree? The first rule is you decree ONLY God’s Word. It has life, Spirit, Truth, and power. I’ll continue to use the EEOC lawsuit filed against my company as an example. God had me first decree His Word over the situation. In the last message, I cited two verses God had me decree: Psalm 112:7 and Isaiah 54:17. God had me pray for the former employee and his lawyer, forgive them and pray for their salvation. God then had me bind Satan and his evil spirits from any further interference (Matthew 18:18) had me come into agreement with my wife this case would be thrown out (Matthew 18:19). Lastly, God had me decree that whatever cost the company paid to defend itself would be paid back by Satan, sevenfold (yeah, I bet this put a few of your heads on a swivel).
Proverbs 6:30-31
30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;
31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
The two verses above tell us a man stealing because he is legitimately hungry and destitute is generally not despised by people. They sympathize and usually want to help once the situation is known. However, a thief that steals because he is evil and for evil reason, when found, SHALL RESTORE SEVENFOLD up to all the substance in his house. I don’t have time to go through everything in these two verses, but you can study for yourself if you reason yourself to be a student of God’s Word. Satan is a thief as Jesus, Himself, tells us in John 10:10.
John 10:10
The thief [Satan] cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I [Jesus] am come that they [you and me] might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Here’s the beauty of John 10:10. Jesus, Himself, is telling us He is giving us abundant life. How? Yes, through The Word. HE IS THE WORD. Jesus tells us in this verse Satan is GOING to steal from you. When he does, you can use JESUS, THE WORD, to MAKE Satan restore sevenfold what was stolen from you. Isn’t this AWESOME! Sisters and Brothers, THIS IS THE ABUNDANT LIFE. Satan might get one on us, but God has given us, through His Word and the Name of Jesus Christ, the ability to have it restored sevenfold. Can you say abundance!! If you don’t believe it, I feel sorry for you. It works! Go ahead and suffer on for Christ. Me, I’m living the abundant life in Christ. And, yes, I believe it as assuredly as I believe I will take my next breath. If my Father said it, it cannot be a lie.
In closing, we are to decree The Word of God in faith over any situation, any desire, any challenge, any mountain, or any circumstance. If God said it, it is so. Decree, believe, receive, and testify! It is this simple. God wants us to live an abundant life IN THIS EARTH. Let’s get one thing straight that religion has lied to us about. WE DON’T NEED LIFE OR ABUNDANT LIFE IN HEAVEN! It is meant for us ON THIS EARTH. We have no enemy in Heaven, we have no one to steal, kill, or destroy in Heaven, there is no sin in Heaven, there is no curse in Heaven, there is no lack in Heaven, there is nothing bad in Heaven, nothing to oppose us. So quit believing this religious baloney about things being meant for us in Heaven and not on this earth. Jesus came to give us Salvation and an abundant life in this earth. He didn’t one time say, “just hang on for Heaven.” Jesus did tell us to “occupy until I come.” But this is another message for another day.
I John 4:17
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He [Jesus Christ] is, so are we in this world.
This verse makes it PLAIN AS DAY. Jesus Christ did everything for us so that we can live just as He is now in Heaven, ON THIS EARTH. Quit waiting for it to get better when you go to Heaven. It will get better because it’s Heaven. But we don’t have to wait for Heaven. Jesus taught us and demonstrated to us we can bring Heaven to this earth in our homes, families, businesses, jobs, possession, finances, health, ministries, etc. Why did Jesus teach us to pray, “Your will [The Father’s] be done on earth as it is in Heaven?” This is one for you to meditate and talk to your Father about.
Decree ONLY the powerful Word of God, in faith, in The Name of Jesus and get Jesus’ results in every situation or desire. Next week we’ll finish this series by addressing when we decree God’s Word.
Much love in Christ,
Larry
