Do You Desire Crumbs?

Good Morning Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

In Ecclesiastes 5:2 we are given a warning by our Father God concerning our words.

Ecclesiastes 5:2

Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.

The preceding verse, Ecclesiastes 5:1, speaks to “keeping thy foot.”  This means one is to “be deliberate, thoughtful” about what one is doing.  We are being warned by The Holy Spirit we are to be thoughtful and deliberate with the words we speak.  Why?  Jesus explains it to us in Matthew 16:19 and Matthew 18:18.

Matthew 16:19

And I will give unto thee the keys of The Kingdom of Heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Matthew 18:18

Verily [truly] I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

In the simplest, “farmer in the field” terms [this means “common sense,” which is no longer common today], it means whatever you say in this earth, God has to back from Heaven.  WHATEVER YOU SAY.  This is exactly what Ecclesiastes 5:2 is warning us against.  Whatever you say on earth, good or bad, is bound by Heaven.

David speaks to this very subject as well in Psalms.

Psalm 141:3

Set a watch [a guard], O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Psalm 17:4

Concerning the works of men, by the word of Thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

These are but two of the many verses David and Solomon speak to concerning our spoken words.  Notice David in Psalm 141:3 is asking God to help him guard what he speaks.  In Psalm 17:4 David is saying he only speaks The Word of God and by doing so, it keeps David from walking the path of the destroyer, who is satan.

Psalm 119:13-16

13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of Thy [God’s] mouth.

14 I have rejoiced in the way of Thy testimonies [God’s Word], as much as in all riches.

15 I will meditate in Thy precepts [God’s Word], and have respect unto Thy ways [God’s Word].

16 I will delight myself in Thy statutes [God’s Word]: I will not forget Thy Word.

David makes it very clear in Psalm 119:13-16 he ONLY speaks The Word of God.  Why?  He told us in Psalm 17:4: to avoid walking the path of the destroyer.  Speak the words of the destroyer (sadly what most Believers do), and he will wreck your life.

Proverbs 18:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

The Holy Spirit, through Solomon, instructs us that WE are the prophets of our lives.  Whatever we sow in words, good or bad, we shall reap the fruit thereof.  I speak to Believers, who one minute are talking about being blessed by God, then the next minute they’re cursing someone through anger, malice, or revenge.  Guess what this Believer is reaping as an upcoming harvest?  Yes, anger, malice, and revenge directed at them.  The harvest, or the fruit has appeared.  David makes it clear he only wants the fruit of God, life and blessing, not the fruit of death and cursing.  Keep talking about your health and your fear of diseases, conditions, and the like.  You know what will happen to you.  You’ll manifest the fruit of the very thing you are fearing or consumed with in your speech.  Speak instead what God says about your health.  You may not be popular with everyone else because they want to dwell on their fear, but you’ll be the one walking in divine health while the others are in the hospital.  Don’t be a fool as The Scriptures say.

There are plenty of examples in The Scriptures where Believer’s wrong speaking brought the cursed fruit of their harvest.  I’ll give you one.

Luke 16:19-21

19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

We all know the story of Lazurus the beggar.  Religion beats up the rich man and feels sorry for Lazarus.  The rich man was not a Believer.  How do you expect a non-Believer to behave?  Yes, just like the rich man behaved toward Lazarus.  It’s like not expecting a dog to bark.  A dog is a dog and is going to bark.  The rich man behaved the way a rich, non-Believer would behave.  We shouldn’t be surprised.  Now, Lazarus, on the other hand, there is a problem.  We know Lazarus ends up in The Bosom of Abraham (Paradise in the earth where the Old Testament Saints went to dwell until Jesus’ death and resurrection).  So, he is a Believer.  Notice Lazarus’ words in Luke 16:21:  “desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table.”  How does Lazarus’ words fit with Proverbs 18:21, Psalm 119:13-16, Psalm 17:4, Psalm 141:3, Matthew 18:18, Matthew 16:19, and Ecclesiastes 5:2?  Yes, Lazarus got EXACTLY what he spoke.  Crumbs!!  It is sad a Child of Almighty God is on the sidewalk begging the world for WHAT HE ALREADY HAS AND SO MUCH MORE!!  But there are SO MANY Believers in this world today living like Lazarus the beggar.  It is offensive to God The Father and to Jesus His Son that ALL JESUS DID to provide salvation and all its benefits to those that will believe, is rotting on the proverbial vine at harvest because of ignorance and unbelief.

Philippians 4:19

But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Stand up like David did and demand, by confession and meditating The Word of God in faith, all of the benefits God has provided you by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Get into God’s Word just like you would if you were searching for hid treasure and unlock the mysteries and secret things God reveals to those that diligently seek Him.  Then you shall make your way prosperous and then shall you have good success (Joshua 1:8).

Do you desire crumbs?

Walk with the heart of The Lamb and the attitude of The Lion.

In Christ,
