Good Morning Brothers in Christ,
It is a great day today – the day the Lord hath made – and the Lord only makes good and perfect things. And, every good and perfect thing He makes is meant for His children, those that call upon the name of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. You should expect to have an awesome day full of the Lord’s blessings upon you (Deuteronomy 28:2) – the blessings will overcome and overtake you if you believe this to be true and speak this over your life.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I [God] know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
This is a well known verse to many Believers. Our Father says He has thoughts about His children, you and me. The thoughts are never evil, contrary to what religion or the world will teach us. God cannot have evil thoughts, neither can He be tempted with evil (James 1:13). Jesus, the Son of man, was tempted with evil, but God, the Spirit, cannot be tempted with evil.
Psalm 37:37
Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
Psalm 37:37 tells us the “expected end” of Jeremiah 29:11. God’s “expected end” for Believers is “peace.” This, as Jeremiah 29:11 says, is God’s thoughts toward you, the expected end He wants us, as Believers, to have – peace.
A “perfect” man is a man of “Godly maturity.” It doesn’t mean a man that doesn’t sin. Only Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, on earth, as a man. We are completely forgiven of all our sins, past, present, and future through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. However, because of our corruptible flesh and soul (our spirits are perfect since it is the Godhead in us), we will still sin while on this earth, in this life. “Godly maturity” means the man has learned, through faith, to completely trust in God’s Word – NOT to trust in anything of this world or the world’s wisdom. God mocks the wisdom of the natural man and the world.
Now, it is important we understand what “peace” really means. When you study God’s Word, you cannot go on your human wisdom or intellect. If you do, you will never fully understand what our Father means by “peace” in His Word. You’ll miss out on believing for the fullness of God’s peace.
Peace = “Shalom” in the Hebrew. Shalom means “completeness, safety, soundness (in body), welfare, health, prosperity, peace, quiet, tranquility, contentment, friendship (with God).” Amazing isn’t it!! When we normally just read through God’s Word and don’t study it, we miss out on so much. The world’s understanding of “peace” is terribly limited and crippled. God’s “peace” or “shalom” is rich and abundant – just as our Father is toward us.
It’s exciting when you know your Father’s will is for you to have His expected end of “shalom” for your life – every single day. But, we have to believe this to be true and speak this, in faith, over our lives and the lives of our families. Otherwise, it will not happen (Joshua 1:8).
Psalm 35:27
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.
In closing, we can see the Father’s will for our lives – He has pleasure in our prosperity – prosperity in spirit, in health, and materially (III John 2). But, He gives us prosperity for one purpose and one purpose only – to advance His Kingdom on this earth. We are to be a blessing to others, saved and unsaved, spiritually, materially, and physically (Genesis 12:2-3).
Have an awesome day in Christ,
Larry
