Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
In the last message, we learned we are not to take the name of God in vain. To take God’s name in vain is to tie God’s name, “I AM” to anything that is not Truth, The Word of God. When we are saved, the Genesis 1:26 image and likeness of God is restored to us. For us to say words, to have actions, or to harbor thoughts contrary to The Word of God is considered taking God’s name in vain. I understand most of us were never taught this. But The Word of God is very clear. As Believers, we are “I AM’s” through Jesus Christ. Why? Because God gave us EVERYTHING in His Kingdom though Jesus Christ except for The Father’s throne. This is why Jesus Christ, our joint heir, thought it not robbery to be equal to God (Philippians 2:6). Don’t shoot the messenger. Read The Word. It is all explained in It. Remember Jesus answering, “I AM” when the Jewish Temple Soldiers came to arrest Him. And we are what? Yes, joint heirs.
I Peter 2:22
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth:
Guile = Greek word “dolos” which means, “deceit, guile, treachery.” Dolos originates from the root work, “del.” Del means “to decoy; a trick (bait), i.e. (figuratively) wile — craft, deceit, guile, subtilty.”
The Scriptures tell us that “no guile” was ever in the mouth of Jesus Christ. This means Jesus only spoke The Truth, The Word of God, no matter the situation, good or bad. He never, ever spoke anything contrary to The Word of God. And look at the power in which He operated. But Larry, Jesus was God, and it was easy for Him to do. Yes, Jesus was The Son of God, but He was never legally allowed to operate as God in the earth. Had He done this, He would have violated The Word of God (if you don’t understand this, it will be explained in a later message). Jesus had to operate as a man of flesh with The Holy Spirit in Him in this earth. Otherwise, He could have never been The Sacrifice in this earth for us. Man (Adam) lost the earth and allowed sin and the curse in the earth and the Son of man (Jesus) took back the earth and took the keys to hell and death from satan. Jesus did this by never speaking any guile.
Psalm 34:13
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Guile = Hebrew word “mirmah” which means, “deceit, deception, treachery, fraud.” The word mirmah originates from the root word, “ramah.” Ramah means “in the sense of deceiving; fraud — craft, deceit(-ful, -fully), false, feigned, guile, subtilly, treachery.”
We are warned by The Holy Spirit in Psalm 34:13 from speaking guile, which is evil. I am sick, I am broke, I am depressed, I am lonely, I am not worthy, I am inferior, I am a failure, I am one that can’t do it, I am not smart enough, I am not from a rich family, etc. These are all evil, false, treacherous, and deceptive statements. Yes, you may be in a physical situation or status where you are one or more of the aforementioned. However, it is NOT The Spiritual Truth. We’ve read in many previous messages that Spiritual Truths have power over and have precedent over physical facts. The physical realm is an inferior realm to The Spiritual Realm of Truth. We see this in I Peter 2:1-2 and I Peter 3:10.
I Peter 2:1-2
1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of The Word, that ye may grow thereby:
I Peter 3:10
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
If we allow our tongue to speak evil and guile concerning ourselves, our family, or our situation, The Scriptures are clear what we can expect. Likewise, The Scriptures are clear what we can expect when we do speak God’s Truths. We will love life and see good days.
In Genesis 3, we see where satan, the serpent, beguiled Eve. We must understand Eve was beguiled, and Adam committed treason. It was not Eve’s fault mankind fell. It was solely Adam’s fault. Adam stood beside Eve during the deception, condemnation, and temptation and did not say one thing. When offered the fruit, he ate it without regard for God’s Word. Adam had the power to have kicked satan out of the Garden and out of the earth. Instead, he gave the earth over to satan. satan deceived Adam out of the title deed to the earth.
Genesis 3:13
And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
“Beguiled” = Hebrew word “nasha” meaning “to lead astray, to delude, to seduce, to become a debtor.”
When we believe satan’s lies, his beguilement, we are led astray, we are deluded, we are seduced into become a debtor. We become a debtor to the bondage of the kingdom of darkness. When we allow ourselves to believe the lies of this world, satan’s lies, we enter bondage in this area of our life. We are ignorant. The Scriptures tell us ignorance is “blindness of the heart.”
Proverbs 18:7
A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
“Fool” = Hebrew word “kciyl” which means “fool, stupid fellow, dullard.” Kciyl is derived from the root word “kasal,” meaning “to be foolish” or “to be stupid.”
“Snare” = Hebrew word “mowqesh” which means “snare, trap, stumbling block.” “Yaqosh” is the root word, and it means “to ensnare” or “to lay a trap.”
The Holy Spirit is teaching us that if we speak anything other than what God has said about us, we are being foolish and stupid. The words we speak that don’t align with God’s Word will ensnare us becoming a trap and stumbling block to us. We will be trapped in the bondage that comes with the kingdom of darkness.
John 12:47-50
47 And if any man hear My Words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 He that rejecteth Me, and receiveth not My Words, hath One that judgeth him: The Word that I have spoken, The Same shall judge him in the last day.
49 For I have not spoken of Myself; but The Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50 And I know that His commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.
Looking at what Jesus said in John 12:47-48, we see it is exclusively focused on God’s Word. Jesus tells us He will not judge us. The Word will judge us. The Word will judge at both The Great White Throne as it condemns the unsaved based upon their rejection of Jesus Christ as their Savior and Redeemer (Revelation 20:12-13). The Word will judge at the Bema Seat when Believer’s works done for Christ are tried in the purifying fire (I Corinthians 3:13) according to the intent of their heart.
V49:
“I should say” is the Greek word “eipen” which means “answer, bid, bring word, command.”
In simplest terms, “I should say” refers to “how I should answer or bring word to someone.”
“I should speak” is the Greek word “laleo” which means “to speak, to talk, to utter.”
While “eipen” refers to how to answer someone, “laleo” refers to how to speak to someone. If I’m asked a question, I eipen or answer it. If I’m addressing a group, like a church or a class, I laleo or speak to them.
In John 12:49-50, Jesus teaches us that He ONLY spoke what His Father commanded Him to speak whether He was answering someone or whether He was addressing someone. Notice in verse 50 Jesus says, “And I know that His commandment is life everlasting:.” “His commandment” is referring to verse 49 where Jesus says, “He gave Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.” In other words, there is nothing that you should answer or say that is not in line with The Word of God. God commands this for OUR benefit and blessing. Jesus is referencing back to what He said in John 6:63.
John 6:63
It is The Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: The Words that I speak unto you, They are Spirit, and They are Life.
The Father’s Words are life everlasting according to John 12:50. Jesus only spoke The Words The Father commanded Him to say and to speak. They are Spirit and They are Life.
John 14:15
If ye love Me, keep My commandments.
What Jesus is telling us in John 14:15 is if we love Him, we’ll keep His Word. Jesus’ Words are His Father’s Words. If we keep Jesus’ Words, we’re keeping The Father’s Words. God’s Words are the very Words Jesus spoke in faith which allowed God to raise Him from the dead in hell (read Psalm 16 and Psalm 22). The Words are Spirit, and They are Life.
God’s Word has eternal and everlasting power, and there is nothing greater than God’s Word, not even His Name (Psalm 138:2). God has magnified His Word above His Name. And God has done this for our benefit, for our promotion, and for our blessing.
I know this firsthand. God’s Word has protected me from two attacks by satan designed to rid me from this world. Once in 2018, satan tried to give me a heart attack. As I was dealing with the pain, The Holy Spirit led me to pray in tongues without ceasing for an hour against satan’s deception, or guile, to defeat it. Had I given in to what I was experiencing and feeling, I would have died. Instead, The Word destroyed the pain and the attack and my heart, to this day, is perfect. The second time was over the past four weeks, when satan tried to kill me with a blood clot. I had developed a blood clot of which I was unaware until Saturday a week ago. According to the doctors, the blood clot had formed much earlier, and, on several occasions, had broken off and passed through my heart into my lungs. Fortunately, through God’s protection, which I had authorized through my declaration of His Word in faith, I was protected from death or any other debilitations. The doctor told me I should have been dead or at least have suffered a heart attack, a stroke, or an aneurysm on several occasions. Isn’t God our Father awesome!!
I remember the Saturday, a week ago, and the following two days, I commanded my healing and wholeness in the Name and stripes of Jesus Christ. I even had a handful of Sisters and Brothers in Christ anoint and pray over me that Saturday in line with James 5. When I had to go to the Emergency Room this past Tuesday, I was not happy with God. Where was the healing I was promised? I know my faith, and there is no shortness or lack in it. In short, God taught me through The Holy Spirit that I had violated physical laws concerning my body and continued to violate these physical laws even though I was speaking The Word of God over me. This is a great example of the “double-minded” man of James 1:8. To speak The Word of God over me and continue to violate physical laws was double minded. I pray you can understand what I am saying. God’s Word could easily have healed me had I not continued to oppose it by violating physical laws concerning my body. I, and I alone, not God, not His Word, was cancelling out the power of The Word to do what God purposed It to do. God further revealed to me the reason I was not dead was also because of God’s Word which I regularly decree over myself, and my family. Fortunately, I was not doubleminded in this. I’m doing great, and other than this incident, I am very healthy – again, by the decreed Word of God.
In closing, our thoughts, our words, and our actions determine our outcome. If it’s not God’s Word, it’s guile. I praise God for the protection, deliverance, health and wholeness, and prosperity of His Word. I thank God for using this occasion to lovingly teach me such a valuable lesson on doublemindedness. I will be examining all areas of my life for this through The Holy Spirit and asking for His help, through The Word, in driving any doublemindedness out. satan will try to plant the seeds of doublemindedness in us. We must get violent, as Jesus says in Matthew 11:12, and take to ourselves, in faith, The Word of God, His Kingdom, in all areas of our lives.
Much love to all in Christ Jesus,
Larry
