Prosperity – God Absolutely Meant It for You #4

Good Morning Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

As we enter Christmas and the new year of 2021, I thank God for each of you.  Each of you have had a wonderful impact on my life.  As we enter this new year, I bless your family and you with the blessing Abraham gave to Isaac, and Isaac to Jacob:  “Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: (Genesis 27:28).  This is a material blessing.  Abraham learned his words spoken in faith, and in agreement with God’s Word, would come to pass.  And, we see this happen as we read the accounts of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob’s lives.  Not just their accounts, but Joseph’s, David’s, Solomon’s, Jesus’, and Larry’s.  Yes, I included my name as a little bit of humor, but I also included it to make a point.  If you do believe you are blessed spiritually, materially, and physically, you should include your name.  “Larry, this is just silliness.”  When your spiritual, material, and physical life looks like Abraham’s, Isaac’s, and Jacob’s, I’ll pay attention to you.  Until then, “let God be true, and every man a liar.”  I’m calling those things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17).  I’m not yet at the level of Abraham, but I will be through my diligent seeking of the mysteries of the Kingdom because God promises to reward those diligently seeking after Him (Hebrews 11:6).

We’re continuing with our study of prosperity.  When this word is mentioned, people automatically associate money with it.  Don’t get it wrong, money is a large part of it.  But prosperity also includes health, great marriages, relationships, etc.  Prosperity is in all areas of your life and your family.  My question to you from our study so far:  is it God’s will that you prosper materially and in health?

III John 2

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Let me ask you this.  Who wrote the books of the Bible?  Yes, it was men who physically penned it.  But Who gave them the Words?  The Holy Spirit did.  II Timothy 3:16 makes this VERY clear.  Let’s examine what the Holy Spirit inspired John to write.

This verse is written to Believers only.  The Holy Spirit addresses us as “Beloved.”  Who else did God, the Holy Spirit, address as His “Beloved?”  Yes, His Son, Jesus.  We are in the same class as Jesus in God’s eyes.  “I wish” is also “I will” in the Greek.  God’s will is “ABOVE ALL THINGS..”  Don’t miss this extremely important point.  What God is willing for His Beloved IS ABOVE ALL THINGS.  What things?  ALL THINGS.  God is saying His Word, which is His will, is ABOVE ALL THINGS.

What is God’s will for His child according to III John 2?  “That you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.”  I won’t break down the Greek here as I’ve done it in previous emails.  “Prosper” in the Greek in this verse is “material prosperity, wealth.”  “Health” in the Greek in this verse is physical health on this earth.”  In one church where I taught, I had a man argue this verse meant we would have divine prosperity and health in Heaven because our soul would be incorruptible and changed there.  My reply was, “you are half right and a lot of wrong.”  Without going into deep technicalities, the voice and tense of the Greek used here reveals it is for the present, not the future.  It is also a continuing action.  In addition, when you study the Hebrew, you see there is no future tense, only a past and present.

Let me ask this of you.  Do you need material prosperity and physical health in Heaven?  Do you need your soul to prosper in Heaven?  Of course not.  God has provided everything for us in Heaven, and our bodies and souls are translated from corruptible to incorruptible.  So, let’s move past the ignorance of trying to argue this is for Heaven only.  What does it mean, “even as thy soul prospereth?”  It means as you receive revelation from studying God’s Word, diligently, your spiritual heart (soul) will be convinced of the Truth of God’s Word in a particular area, such as material and physical prosperity, and you will begin to believe and decree God’s Truth over your family’s and your life as God has spoken.  In faith, you’ll decree and receive what God’s Word has you.

God has spoken through John and told His children that His will is for them to materially prosper and be in great health on this earth.  He has given us the secret to materially prospering and being in great health in this same verse.  Study God’s Word (II Timothy 2:15), meditate it, confess it, believe it, and receive it.

Joshua 1:8

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Joshua 1:8 is a powerful verse.  Today, we can substitute “the Word of God” for “this book of the law.”  The Word of God is law.  When we work God’s Word the way He instructs us, the Spiritual laws obey our faith and produce for us.  This is what Joshua 1:8 teaches us.  If we do what God’s Word tells us to do in faith (being fully persuaded God’s Word will come to pass), we shall make our way PROSPEROUS and have GOOD SUCCESS.  Again, do we need prosperity or good success in Heaven?  NO.  Please get the junk we’ve been taught out of your head and hearts.  It is the strategy of Satan to twist God’s Word from the pulpit and keep God’s children weak and in bondage to wrong thinking and wrong confessions.

Father, I thank you that you have and are raising up an army of Believers who no longer settle for mediocrity, who no longer bend to wrong doctrines, who no longer accept the deception of Satan outside or inside the walls of a church, a denomination, but they are instead fully persuaded of Your Truth and are committed to being willing and obedient to Your full counsel.  I will not bend Your Word to any earthly government decree, and I will not bend my knee to any other god, image, government, idol, or thing.  I will only obey and worship You.  I will use Your Word and speak out loudly, courageously, and boldly, as You’ve commanded, against all who would dare stand against Your Word.  I pray I would not be a coward at any time and a talker only, but a doer of all Your precious and holy Word.  I pray for those who oppose You, that they and theirs come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior.  At the same time Father, I pray You would destroy all their plans, their evil, their deception, their wisdom, that You would make them a mockery in the eyes of the world for entertaining their evil desires to oppose Your Word and You.  I thank you Father for repentance until the day You call me Home, and I put on the incorruptible body and soul.  Though I stumble with sin, precious Father You said You would catch me so I would not utterly fall.  Thank you.  As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord God Almighty and His Son, Jesus Christ, all the days of our time on this earth and throughout all eternity.  In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, Amen!

Blessing, in Christ.

Larry
