Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
If you’re a student of God’s Word, you learn when you read The Word there is a reason for every single thing recorded in The Scriptures. We know God gave us The Word. And, every Word of God’s is established forever and will not change (Psalm 89:34).
II Timothy 3:16-17
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Note all Scripture is given by inspiration of God. In the Greek, “inspiration” in this verse means, “God breathed.” God breathed The Word so the man of God may be perfect. The man of God will not be perfect in his flesh as Christ was perfect on this earth. “Perfect” in this verse means, “Godly mature.” God gave man The Word of God so we could grow into a Godly mature person by studying, believing, confessing, and receiving the promises of God. As you grow into Godly maturity, you learn how to operate successfully and consistently in the Kingdom of God.
We, as Believers, are all very aware of Christ’s death on the cross, the shedding of His blood for the remission of our sins, and the redemption for us from the curse of the law. However, there were three other places in The Passion where Jesus shed blood and redeemed us: when Jesus sweat blood in the garden, when Jesus was scourged, and when Jesus wore a crown of thorns.
Luke 22:44
And being in an agony He [Jesus] prayed more earnestly: and His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
Jesus redeemed Believers from the curse of sweat and the toil of labor pronounced in Genesis 3:19 because of sin, the curse entering the earth. Sweat represents stress, effort, and laborious toil. This is not God’s best for us. Just as Adam plunged mankind from The Blessing into the curse in a garden, Jesus redeemed mankind from the curse and restored him to The Blessing in a garden. Jesus did not sweat blood about the agony of the physical torture He was to go through. He sweat blood in His agony over being separated from His Father and His Father’s love. God had to turn His back on Jesus as Jesus took all mankind’s sin, past, present, and future upon Himself. No doubt the physical torture was horrendous, but Jesus labored over the separation from a Father He had been with and been loved by for eternity.
Genesis 3:17-19
17 And unto Adam He [God] said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
It is wrongly taught in some denominations God cursed the earth and man. This is completely false. God DID NOT curse the earth or man. If God did curse the earth and man, then God is a liar. However, Titus 1:2 tells us, “God cannot lie.” You ask, “how would God be a liar if He did curse the earth and man?” Jesus, God in the flesh, very clearly said in Mark 3:25, “if a house is divided against itself, it cannot stand.” When Jesus healed and raised from the dead, when He cast out demons, when He calmed the storms and waves, He would have been working against His Father’s will if God did curse the earth and man. In fact, if God does curse the earth and man, as some suggest, why do we go to the doctors or to medical science when we get sick? It wouldn’t be God’s will for us to do so. Do you see how asininely stupid this doctrine and argument is that some believe? Satan is the deceiver, and he will corrupt The Word of God, just as he did with Eve in the Garden of Eden, to lead God’s own people astray. But we’re led astray because we won’t study The Word of God so we can rightly divide The Word of Truth. Don’t take my word for it. As I John 4:1 commands, “try the spirits” to see The Truth. Don’t remain in locked in bondage to a dogmatic, denominational lie. Experience ALL of God’s goodness Jesus paid for with His precious life.
The Scriptures are clear when the law was transgressed the curse came into the earth (Daniel 9:11). “But Larry, the law didn’t exist at the time of Adam and Eve. It didn’t come about until Moses.” The law has existed as long as God has existed – which is forever. What do you think makes God a just God? The law. God judges according to the law. We know God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34); therefore, God has an unwavering standard against which He judges all men and women. It is the law. This ensures God judges fairly and is impartial. Otherwise, God would be a liar, be variable, and would have a shadow of turning (Titus 1:2, James 1:17). Jesus fulfilled the standard of God, the law, for all Believers. This is called “Grace.” Therefore, the law cannot condemn us any longer (Romans 8:1-2). However, for all those who leave this world without having accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, The Scriptures are clear the law will condemn them before God at The Great White Throne Judgment, and they will be cast into an eternal hell. Thankfully, Jesus redeemed us from the curse (Galatians 3:13-14) and blessed us with The Blessing of Abraham. There will be more study of this at a later time.
Jesus was scourged by the Roman soldiers. A scourging was different than a whipping. The traditional Roman scourging was 39 lashes with a cat of nine tails. It was a whip with nine, long leather straps that had sharp, cutting items placed on the ends of each strap. Items such as broken glass, sharpened rocks, and sharpened metals. The whip was designed, and the lashes delivered in such a way as to sink the cutting items in the flesh of the victim. The Roman soldier would then yank the nine straps out of the flesh of the victim ripping chunks of flesh out and ultimately bone showing through. The purpose of a scourging was to kill or almost kill the victim from the loss of blood, flesh, and bodily fluids. It was a brutal, vicious act of depravity.
Matthew 27:26
Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.
The Scriptures make clear the scourging was to redeem Believers from the curse of sickness, disease, infirmity, weakness, pain, and aches. The blood shed by Christ during the scourging HAS redeemed Believers from the curse of sickness and disease as we can see below in I Peter 2:24. There are denominations that believe healing by a man or woman passed away with Jesus’ Disciples or the Apostles. Today, it is only miracles performed by God when He wills to do it. Again, this is purely a lie from hell. It is absolutely God’s will that all Believers are healed and prospered even as their soul prospers (III John 2).
Isaiah 53:5
But He [Jesus] was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5 is prophesying what would happen to Jesus that would bring about our healing and protection. I Peter 2:24, below, is stating what happened 2000 years ago with Jesus’ scourging.
I Peter 2:24
Who His [Jesus] Own self bare our sins in His Own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by Whose stripes ye were healed.
And lastly, Jesus wore a crown of thorns fashioned for Him by the Roman soldiers. Although the soldiers did it to mock Him, little did they know they were fulfilling God’s prophetic Word for Jesus to redeem our minds from the curse.
John 19:2
And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on His [Jesus] head, and they put on Him a purple robe,
Thorns, not briars or stickers, occur in dry and arid climates. Thorns are leaves that have contracted and wound themselves very tight to retain moisture. You don’t find thorns like Jesus had shoved into His head, forehead, and brow in wet, moist climates. Thorns represent the “cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches (Mark 4:18-19)”. In the parable of the sower, the thorns choke out The Word of God. Why? Because the Believer allowed the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches to take root and grow in their hearts rather than feeding the good seed, The Word of God. They believed more in their situation, their problems, than they did in The Word of God. Jesus’ shed blood from the crown of thorns redeemed the Believer’s mind from wrong, cursed thinking such as negativity, depression, oppression, fear, doubt, unbelief, stress, anxiety, pressure, addiction, etc.
As we can see, The Passion was much more than Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. Before Jesus ever reached the cross to redeem Believers from sin and from the condemnation of the law and descended into Hell to receive our eternal punishment of spiritual death and separation from God, He had redeemed Believers from the curse of sweat and toil in the earth, from the curse of disease, sickness, and infirmity, and from the curse of wrong, fearful, and unbelieving thinking. THIS IS GRACE!!! Praise God for His faithfulness, His redemptive plan, and His redemptive love.
Our Father and our King and Lord Jesus Christ have given us SO MUCH. In fact, God, the Father, has given us EVERYTHING that belongs to Him. I know, we’ve been taught so wrong for so long. Yes, The Scriptures plainly teach us God has given us EVERYTHING that belongs to Him.
John 16:13-15
13 Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all Truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify Me [Jesus]: for He shall receive of Mine [Jesus}, and shall shew it unto you.
15 All things that the Father hath are Mine: therefore said I, that He shall take of Mine, and shall shew it unto you.
How much clearer can God make it for us. “All things the Father has belongs to Jesus.” Why does Jesus tell US the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit, will show it unto us? Because we are joint heirs with Jesus Christ and receive EVERYTHING that belongs to Jesus (Romans 8:17). What did Jesus receive? EVERYTHING. What is EVERYTHING? Wisdom, riches, power, strength, honor, glory, and blessing (Revelation 5:12). IT ALL BELONGS TO YOU!!! NOW, IN THIS EARTH. “Larry, I don’t see that it says it is mine that I can have now, in this earth.”
I John 4:17
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He [Jesus] is, so are we in this world.
Please quit allowing Satan and wrong thinking being taught you rob you of God’s commandment to let your light shine in this world so the world will see the greatness and goodness of your Father and glorify Him. If you look like the world and are suffering like the world, the world will want nothing to do with your faith or your God. They already have enough trouble and problems. Let’s discover The Kingdom of God and how to operate in it in faith and become the evidence, the signs and wonders, that will attract a spiritually starving world to The Almighty Father and Jesus our Lord. Believe me, the time is ripe and will become more so every day with the chaos Satan is unleashing. But, where sin abounds, Grace abounds much more.
P.S. Have you ever wondered why The Scriptures say that even Jesus does not know the day and hour of the Rapture? Why would God keep this from His precious Son, Jesus? Well, here’s the answer. We’re joint heirs with Jesus which means anything and everything God tells, gives, or does for Jesus, He has to do it for us also. If He told Jesus when, Jesus would have to tell us. And God knows if we knew the day and time we would sit on our lazy butts and not be doing what we should do for His Kingdom until the last minute. It’s human nature unless the human has subjected his flesh to the Spirit of God.
Have the heart of The Lamb of God and the attitude of The Loin of Judah (Judah means “praise”).
In Christ,
Larry
