Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
God called me to be a teacher of His Word, to teach it inerrantly, and to break down the walls of the tradition of men and rudiments of this world (Colossians 2:8), which has perverted the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Gospel of Grace, and the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. It is anathema what is happening in most denominations and in many churches, how the Gospel of Jesus Christ is being perverted and wrongly taught, and worse, how Believers are just blindly or willfully accepting of it. You may not see it, but I see it in a mighty way. God is calling Believers outside the four walls of tradition and rudiments of this world to a “living” and thriving Gospel that is full of authority and power in the name of Jesus Christ, operating the very way Jesus commanded and taught us through Word and deed in the four gospels. Paul picks up the mantle and preaches, and teaches, and performs signs and wonders just as Jesus did with even greater works as Jesus promised in John 14:12.
As Believers, we are commanded, not asked, but commanded, to study the Word of God. Through diligent study, God promises to reward the Believer (Hebrews 11:6). Reward the Believer with what? With wisdom (Proverbs 2:6). Wisdom then enables us to fulfill III John 2 and Genesis 12:2-3. During my studies, God constantly reveals Himself through the Word. If you become a student of God’s Word, you can ask God to reveal the hidden mysteries of His Word, the “rhema” or “revealed” Word, and He will do it for you. I’ll give you an example of such an event which happened for me Friday morning. I have read the Gospel of John many times; especially chapter one. A verse that perplexed me was John 1:51:
John 1:51
And He [Jesus] saith unto him [Nathanael], Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
What bothered me about this verse is the Scriptures never record Nathanael seeing the “angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.” From what I had learned of the study of God’s Word, the Scriptures, if it was important enough for the Holy Spirit to have recorded this here, it would have to be explained or corroborated elsewhere in the Scriptures. But I could find no where it was corroborated. It just seemed such a strange reply of Jesus to Nathanael, who hadn’t asked Jesus a question other than, “How do you know me” in verse 48. However, I asked God, some time ago, to reveal the purpose of this verse being recorded here.
Friday morning as I was reading Proverbs 30, verse 4 leapt off the page at me.
Proverbs 30:4
Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? Who hath gathered the wind in His fists? Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His son’s name, if thou canst tell?
The Holy Spirit then revealed to me that Nathanael was sitting under the fig tree contemplating this very verse. He was struggling with this because he surmised God was the Father spoken of in Proverbs 30:4, but Nathanael couldn’t figure out the “son” part of it. We have to remember the Jewish people were looking for an earthly King to appear, out of the lineage of David, that would deliver them from the tyrannical Roman rule, just as David had rid the nation of Israel of its occupiers and united Judah and Israel into one nation. Jesus not only told Nathanael what he was doing – sitting under the fig tree – but He also told him what he was meditating. Nathanael’s spiritual heart and eyes are fully persuaded the Father and the Son were standing before him.
All I could think when this was revealed to me was “WOW!!!!!” I was temporarily at loss for words but also overwhelmed with the euphoria one experiences when God gives revelation or wisdom. Now, the Scriptures in John 1 make perfect, spiritual sense to me.
I hope you have become or will become a student of the Word of God. There is so much treasure hidden in the Word for those that seek after her, wisdom, as if searching for hid treasure. God is more than willing to reveal it to you if you are more than willing to seek it – diligently and daily.
God can only work through us that which we allow Him too and that for which we believe, decree, act upon, and testify of in this world. God has no limits and will work as big a work in you as you can possibly believe. He is searching for these hearts that are willing to be stretched by a God that keeps His promises – always and forever.
Walk Mighty in His Name, Authority, and Power.
