Same Measure of Faith

Good Morning Brothers in Christ,

Praise God for His abundant grace, mercy, and increase in all areas of our lives – everyday.  I hope you are believing and receiving your increase everyday for this is God’s will according to His Word (Psalm 115:14, III John 2).  If you don’t believe it, you’ll just do without.

Colossians 2:6-8

6As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him:

7Rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

8Beware lest any man spoil [rob, strip] you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Colossians 2:6 is the Holy Spirit, through Paul, instructing us the same measure of faith we used to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior is sufficient for all areas of our life.  In other words, there is not one measure of faith to accept Christ and then a different measure of faith required for healing, for deliverance from an addiction or habitual sin, for financial rescue, for a better relationship with one’s spouse, for your business’s or your job’s success, etc.  Religion teaches and shows us that it will accept a man, in any state or condition, until he gets saved, then religion imposes this checklist of requirements on the new Believer in order for them to be holy, righteous, and perfect in “THEIR” eyes.  Religion teaches us just the OPPOSITE of Colossians 2:6.  Religion says yes, you have been saved with this measure of faith, but now, if you want victory in other areas of your life, you have to PERFORM according to OUR doctrine and theology – and it requires a different measure of faith.  This is a lie from the depths of hell.  And, I was fooled by it for 55 years of my life – it being taught, insinuated, and demonstrated from the pulpit – which will pull you out of the pit or pull you into the pit – pulpit.

So, how do we walk in Christ, everyday, with the same measure of faith we used to accept Him?  Colossians 2:7 tells you how.  How do you become rooted and built up in Christ and established in the faith?  Paul answers it in the next part of the verse – “as ye have been taught.”  Who is your number one teacher?  Yes, the Holy Spirit (John 14:26).  And how do you hear from the Holy Spirit?  By studying God’s Word (II Timothy 2:15).  And, we’re not just to study God’s Word, but we are to “abound therein with thanksgiving.”  The point of this four word phrase is lost on many.  The Holy Spirit is teaching you in this small phrase that by abiding in the Word of God, becoming rooted and built up in Christ and established or building a solid rock foundation in the Word, YOU WILL THEN “ABOUND.”  Abound in what?  IN EVERYTHING:  in your health, in your finances, in your spousal relationship, in the relationship with your children and grandchildren, in your job or your business, spiritually, etc.  And what does “abounding” lead to in your life?  Yes, THANKSGIVING.  The Holy Spirit is emphasizing what was written in Joshua 1:8 – the Law of Confession.

Joshua 1:8

This book of the law shall [they only had the first five books of the Old Testament at this time and likely Job; we can say “This book of God’s Word”] not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Now, the Holy Spirit warns us in Colossians 2:8 that as you dive into God’s Word and walk out His Word in your life, you will be opposed.  You will be opposed by the enemy, Satan and his forces.  Satan uses men to oppose you.  He controls them and their thoughts.  Satan will come at you in all areas of your life including from some pulpits.  God has commanded us in I John 4:1 to “believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:..”  You are commanded not to accept what I’m writing here as the Gospel until you study it in God’s Word and have the Holy Spirit confirm it.  This is also true of your church.  Don’t just blindly accept what is written or said, like I did, from the pulpit.  So what if your denomination has been around for a 1000 years and has so many hundreds of millions or a billion people who claim to be of that denomination.  False teaching is false teaching.  You are commanded to study it out and confirm this is from the Holy Spirit of the One True Living God.  Be confident of this, Satan has ZERO power over you and against you – unless YOU give him power.

In closing, don’t let Satan fool you through religion.  How did Jesus combat Satan’s temptations?  By speaking or decreeing the Word of God, “It is written….”  Jesus didn’t use any other source, didn’t quote any man, and didn’t offer His opinion or preferences.  Jesus ONLY spoke the Word of God, His Father – our Father, in every situation.  There is ONLY ONE MEDIATOR between God and man, Jesus Christ – THE WORD OF GOD (Rev 19:13).  When we stand before Jesus Christ at the Bema Seat to receive our rewards – notice we receive rewards in Heaven, and we receive our inheritance in this earth.  Big difference.  You should study this out – there will be tears.  It will be the last time we have tears because Precious Jesus will wipe them away.  You know why there are tears?  Because Believers will realize how they believed lies on this earth and didn’t fulfill God the Father’s plan for their lives.  God has given us a spiritual inheritance (Ephesians 1:3, I Peter 1:3-4, II Peter 1:3-4) that we are to manifest on this earth during our lifetime.  If we don’t, we’ve not fulfilled God’s plan for our lives.

Walk mighty in the Blessing of Almighty God through Jesus Christ,

Larry
