Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
God’s inerrant Word is Truth. Truth is powerless if unbelief prevails against it. The only thing that can prevail against Truth, in your life, is your unbelief. Simply put, all of God’s Word is Truth (John 17:17). Whatever of God’s Truth you don’t believe is unbelief. Your unbelief doesn’t change God’s Truth.
When we encounter trials, temptations, tribulations, and persecutions, all of which come solely from Satan – NOT GOD – we must combat it with the Truth. Your opinion, your feelings, or the facts of the world have ZERO power against Satan. The ONLY thing that has power against Satan is the spoken Word of God.
Please envision what follows. You are in a court with Satan on one side and Jesus Christ and you on the other side. God is the judge, and He is sitting on the Throne of Grace (unmerited, unearned, undeserved favor). You have Satan bringing charges of trials, temptations, tribulations, and persecutions against you. How do you respond to the charges? Yes, by doing exactly what Jesus did in the Temptation in the Wilderness – quote God’s Word, which is Law. Judges rule according to the law. Lawyers present cases based on the law. When we, as Believers, present our case, we are doing it with Jesus as our partner, our advocate, our intercessor, and our mediator. We have right standing (aka “righteousness”) in the court because of Jesus Christ and His finished work.
Let’s take an example. You’ve come down with cancer according to the doctors and the medical profession. This is a physical fact. But it is not a Spiritual Truth. Remember Spiritual Truth has precedence over physical fact. In the court scenario previously described, Satan has leveled charges against you of cancer because he is the overlord of the curse. What do you do? You answer his charges of cancer with what God’s Word has to say about healing. The following are a few verses you present to God in His court:
Psalm 107:20
He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
1 Peter 2:24
Who His [Christ] own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by Whose stripes ye were healed.
Isaiah 57:19
I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.
Isaiah 53:4-5
4 Surely He [Christ] hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
Psalm 103:5
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Psalm 1:3
And he [you, the Believer] shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 91:10
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
Deuteronomy 28:4
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body……
I can keep adding even more verses that instruct us God has already healed our bodies through Jesus Christ. Cancer is of the curse. Christ took all the curse upon Himself and overcame it so that we wouldn’t have to bear anything of the curse.
Galatians 3:13-14
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles [unsaved] through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
You present your case to God using the Word of God, which is Law (Isaiah 43:26). God is sitting on the Throne of Grace (Hebrews 4:16). As you’re presenting your case, the Word of God, Satan is yelling “objection, objection, objection.” Because you are presenting the Word of God as your body of evidence, God decrees, “Overruled” to Satan. In other words, Satan is trying to keep you under the curse of cancer. However, because you are presenting your case using the Word of God which says you are healed by Jesus’ stripes, that no plague or disease can come near you or your family, that your leaf [your body] will not wither, that your body is blessed by God, that the Word, Jesus Christ, has healed you, etc., God declares you healed and free of the curse of cancer – or whatever it might be that comes against you. Now, you command your body to be healed of cancer. You speak against cancer and curse it to death. You tell the cancer that Jesus the Christ [the Anointed One] took all cancer on Himself at the cross; therefore, you cannot have cancer, that it MUST obey the Word of God and leave your body. You tell your body that IT is healed by the stripes precious Jesus took at the scourging. You speak the verses above and others that you will find in the Scriptures over your body and against the cancer. The more you speak it, the more you believe it. Why? Because the Scriptures say that “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Quoting Scripture over and over and meditating on it is what develops God’s faith in you into a raging fire. Not only can you heal yourself, but you will learn to heal others (that’s another email).
What you cannot do is come before the Throne of Grace in a cowardly, crawling manner saying, “O Father, I’m so unworthy, please have mercy on me.” The Father loves you but is deeply offended that you put so little value on what Jesus accomplished through his torture, crucifixion, time in hell, and resurrection. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come BOLDLY unto the Throne of Grace…..” “Let us” means Jesus Christ and you. Why are you crawling, why are you sniveling, why are you speaking words of self-debasement which is nothing more than pride when your Father has told you to come BOLDY to the Throne of Grace, the throne of unmerited, unearned, undeserved favor? Come BOLDLY because of what Jesus Christ has done for you. God’s not looking at your pitiful works, He’s looking at what Jesus has accomplished. Praise God that we are relieved of proving our worthiness. Our worthiness comes through what Jesus has done for us. So, get off your knees, stand up straight, present yourself with Jesus as the royalty you are before the Throne of Grace to receive favor from our Most High Father. Condemnation and wrath were finished at the cross. There is no more for Believers. There are only the wonderful promises of God to promote us into the best of everything spiritually, physically, and materially for His glory through Jesus Christ (John 14:13). And you cannot come begging. God, please do this, please do that when He has given you the authority and power through Jesus to speak to the mountain by speaking the Word of God over the situation.
In closing, God has enabled us to WIN all the time. Jesus tells us that we will have persecutions, trials, temptations, and tribulations come against us. You can count on it. Especially if you’ve decided to truly make Jesus the Lord of your life and follow His Words, abiding in them daily, studying, and walking the Word out in your life. Satan doesn’t want you to become all powerful as your Father has made you through Jesus. He wants to keep you ignorant or unbelieving of your Father’s Word. Understand this. Satan is a nobody. Jesus defeated him and took from him the keys to hell and death (Revelation 1:18). Satan has no power. He can roar as a lion with the persecution, the tribulations, the trials, the temptations, but he has no power to inflict you with them. Only you can inflict yourself by giving Satan permission through ignorance or unbelief. The only dark cloud hanging over you is the one created with your words and your ignorance and/or unbelief. Dare to make Jesus the true Lord of your life and watch how glorious things become in and around you.
