Spiritual Law of Confession – Can Work For Or Against You

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

We’ve been addressing Spiritual Laws and the Truth that Spiritual Laws are the foundation and infrastructure of God’s Kingdom.  The Laws are immutable [unchangeable] and will work ALL THE TIME, either for us or against us.  There is no defense against Spiritual Laws because of ignorance, wrong interpretation/understanding, or rebellion.  Everything hinges on the seed we sow with the seed being our words and/or our actions.  Seeds sown of life and blessing will reap us manifold harvests of life and blessing while seeds of death and cursing will reap us manifold harvests of death and cursing.  The choice is entirely up to us.  Regardless of the choice, the Spiritual Laws will work without fail.

The Spiritual Law of Confession is found in Joshua 1:8.

Joshua 1:8

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Joshua 1:8 is accentuated by Proverbs 18:21.

Proverbs 18:21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Johusa 1:8 is further accentuated by Job 22:28.

Job 22:28

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.

Last week’s message provided a number of verses of God’s Word instructing Believers to watch what they say, to only say what God has said.  This is because of the Spiritual Law of Confession.  We will have what we say.  As I’ve said many times before, we are the prophets of our lives in this earth.  What we speak from our mouths is prophesying over our day and future.

What does Joshua 1:8 instruct us to do?  Never to let anything but God’s Word inhabit our speech, to meditate in The Word day and night, and when trials come, respond with The Word.  When God instructs us to “meditate,” it means “to mutter, to chew, to think on” God’s Word.  It is this meditation, or this repetition, especially coming from our own mouths to our own ears, that builds faith in us for that Word.  Romans 10:17 tells us this.

Romans 10:17

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by The Word of God.

It can’t be any more clear – BY HEARING THE WORD OF GOD.  Science has proven what The Scriptures already say in Romans 10:17 and other verses:  that the repetition of the spoken word by a person to themselves over and over will help bring that spoken word to pass.  Motivational speakers, life coaches, and successful people, by the world’s standards, will almost all admit to self-speaking their life goals and desires over and over again as positive affirmation.  The brain and body hear this and react over time, whether it is a blessing or a curse.  Sadly, more people in the world believe this than do Believers believe God’s Word about constantly meditating The Word of God.

Jesus made this especially clear in Matthew 12:37.

Matthew 12:37

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Can Jesus, The Son of God, God in the flesh, made it any clearer?  As said by others, “only a theologian, or unsaved, many times the same, can muddy the understanding of what is so plain.”  By “justified,” Jesus means “just as He is.”  By “condemned,” Jesus means “just as satan is.”  “Just as He is” – life and blessing.  “Just as satan is” – death and cursing.

I like how The Holy Spirit explained “justified” to me.  It’s amazing how simple The Holy Spirit can make things to help us understand.  He said, “just as if you are Jesus.”  I hope this helps us better understand how awesome “being justified” is for us.

In looking back on Joshua 1:8, I love the promise God gives to us IF we meditate His Word over and over.  We may start out not fully believing The Word we are meditating.  But, as we continue the repetition of meditation, Romans 10:17 kicks in and The Word becomes faith in us.  Once this happens, we exercise Job 22:28 and decree The Word in faith.  Then the second part of Joshua 1:8 and Job 22:28 kicks in.  “For then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” and “the light [Hebrew = light of prosperity] shall shine upon thy ways.”  Now, how many of us have an ironclad guarantee for the outcome of our lives or of something in our lives?  In the world, there is NOTHING ironclad guaranteed but death.  In the Spiritual realm, every Spiritual Law is ironclad guaranteed.  And every Spiritual Law is God’s Word.  I want what God’s Word says about me, not what the world says about me.  It is entirely up to me whether I become “who” God says I am or if I become “who” the world says I am.  I can be “healthy,” or I can be “sick.”  I can be “prosperous,” or I can “struggle.”  I can be “protected,” or I can be “attacked.”  I can have “God’s wisdom,” or I can have the world’s “failures.”  My choice – your choice.

Next week we’ll look at The Spiritual Law of Agreement.  It is an incredibly powerful law in The Kingdom of God.

Blessings to all in Jesus Christ,

Larry
