Good Morning Brothers in Christ,
I pray the richness of the knowledge of God and of Jesus Christ, our Lord, through the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, is putting you on shouting ground every single day. I know, some days are much tougher than others because of the attacks of Satan and because of our own fear, doubt, and anxiety. What did David do in I Samuel 30:6 when it seemed everything that could go wrong, did go wrong for him? “But David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.” We are to encourage ourselves through God’s Word. We are to see ourselves as God sees us: Conquerors, Kings, Priests, Children of the Most High God, Heirs of the Most High God, Joint-Heirs with Jesus Christ, Possessors of Heaven and Earth, Blessed physically, materially, and spiritually, etc. If your mirror is showing you something else, you need to throw that mirror out and look into the mirror of God – His Word.
We have the same anointing and power Jesus Christ received. And, everything He was able to do in His anointing and power, we are able to do and greater.
Isaiah 10:27
And it shall come to pass in that day [death and resurrection of Jesus Christ], that his [Satan’s] burden shall be taken away from off thy [you]shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
Isaiah is a book of prophecy. The prophecy is of Corporate Israel and of the Church, the Body of Christ – you and me.
Matthew 11:28-30
28Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.
Jesus Christ and the anointing on Him is yoke breaking, burden busting POWER! You have this same anointing and even more power than Jesus had during His ministry on this earth.
Acts 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.
When was Jesus anointed? At His baptism at 30 years of age.
John 1:32-33
32And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon Him [Jesus}.
33And I knew Him [Jesus] not: but He [God] that sent me to baptize with water, the Same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him [Jesus], the same is He [Jesus] which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
What was Jesus anointed with in Acts 10:38? He was anointed with the Holy Ghost and with power. What was He to do with this anointing? To do good and heal all that were oppressed of the devil.
Let’s examine this further. Let’s go to where Jesus gave His mission statement.
Luke 4:18-19
18The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He had anointed Me to preach the gospel [the Greek Word for “gospel” is a superlative and means “the almost too good to be true news.” It was only used three times in the NT] to the poor; He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
When the scriptures say in Acts 10:38 Jesus went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, Luke 4:18-19 gives an explanation of this in detail.
Note, I won’t go into it here, but if you like studying God’s Word, read Isaiah 61:1-2. You might find it to be exactly like Luke 4:18-19. But, you will notice one big difference between Jesus’ mission statement in Luke 4:18-19 and the prophecy in Isaiah 61:1-2. Look in Isaiah 61:2. Jesus did not speak the second half of Isaiah 61:2 as part of His mission statement: “and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn.” Without going into detail, Jesus was not sent to bring or execute vengeance. However, once Jesus was seated at God’s right hand, the Holy Ghost was sent to live in us and to be in the earth. The Holy Ghost is carrying out the second part of the prophecy of Isaiah 61:2.
Ok, so where am I going with all of this? Who are you? If you’ve received Jesus Christ as your Savior, then who are you? The anointed of God.
John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to My Father.
Jesus goes to His Father to send back the Holy Spirit to indwell those that receive Him as their Lord and Savior. This indwelling is the anointing we receive.
Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
I John 2:27
But the anointing which ye have received of Him [Jesus] abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.
I John 2:20
For ye have an unction [anointing] from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
I Corinthians 2:16
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.
II Corinthians 1:21
Now He which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God.
From these verses, and there are others, you can see that each of us have received the anointing and power given Jesus. Through this anointing and power, we are able to do all things through Christ which strengthen us (Philippians 4:13). How does Christ strengthen us? By the anointing and the power in us through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit does it through us by the Word of God.
There is nothing we can’t overcome, nothing we can’t do, and nothing that can stop us in Christ. God foreknew each one of us was going to accept His Son, Jesus Christ, as our Lord and Savior. God also has given each of us an assignment, which we are to carry out for God’s Kingdom on earth. The only way you’ll know your assignment is to study God’s Word. God has said He will make it clear to you what your assignment is through His Word. Remember, God’s Word is Spirit and it is life (John 6:63). If you’re looking elsewhere to find out your assignment, you’ll totally miss it. It is only in God’s Word that you’ll find it. This is why Jesus answered Satan the way He did in the first of the three temptations in the wilderness after His anointing:
Matthew 4:4
But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Simply said, you will not live at God’s level by trusting in the world. You must eat “every Word,” not some Word, not certain Word, not Word for this time in history – “every Word” from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. “Eat” means to “meditate on,” to “chew upon” in the spiritual sense.
I pray you are experiencing daily victory, daily peace, love, joy, daily walking and talking with our Father, daily exercises in faith, a daily expanding vision of God’s love, caring, and His desire for you and all those that would be called by His Name. There is nothing you are facing that God hasn’t already provided you the answer – a victorious answer. One that you can decree [give an order in faith] and have it manifest itself for you. Don’t accept anything less than God’s best for you. Look into His mirror – the Word – and decree, by faith, God’s answer to you for your challenge. Then, just as Jesus instructed in Mark 11:23, YOU speak to the mountain – the problem, the situation, the challenge – and decree what God’s Word says about you – in faith!
In Christ,
Larry
