God’s Word is a Powerful Living Substance

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ Jesus,

Some time ago, in my mind’s eye, The Holy Spirit gave me a vision of Jesus speaking.  The Words coming out of Jesus’ mouth was a Spiritual substance, discrete, golden, and multi-dimensional, wrapped in a container that went off into the universe and the earth.  The Holy Spirit began to show me the power of The Word of God.  How every Word of God, when spoken in faith, goes out into the present and the future.  Every Word is encapsulated in a golden container of faith.  Much like a computer operating system, encapsulated in it is a discrete environment in which one or more applications can be run and allocated the resources it needs to complete its task.  The Word of God is no different.  Each Word of God can be thought of as an application that operates in the discrete environment (read operating system) of The Kingdom of God.  The Scriptures tell us that everything in creation was created and upheld by The Word of God’s power.

Hebrews 1:3

“Who [Jesus] being the brightness of His [God] glory, and the express image of His [God] person, and upholding all things by The Word of His [God] power, when He [Jesus] had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of The Majesty on High;”

Hebrews 11:3

“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by The Word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

Months of meditation where The Holy Spirit revealed more from The Written Word of God and taught me deeper concepts, I began to see the incredible complexities of The Word of God.  This was further corroborated by Gabriel Poirot, author of the newly released, “The 18 Days of Heaven.”  Mr. Poirot was in a coma for 18 days after what would seem to be devastating accident that would take his life.  There was zero expectation he would live because of the trauma to his head and brain.  I’ll let you read about it, but I saw Mr. Poirot in an interview.  He spoke about amazing things in Heaven and His encounter with Jesus and The Father.  One thing that jumped out at me was the fact He said every Word spoken by Jesus was a golden, Spiritual substance, multi-dimensional, that went to do what Jesus said.  Mr. Poirot said you could see the substance of The Word spoken.  I became extremely excited because this confirmed what I had seen in my mind’s eye and had been learning from The Holy Spirit.

When we study God’s Word, we quickly learn there are two realms of reality for us as humans:  the natural (physical) and the Spiritual.  As we study more, we learn the Spiritual realm is superior and exceedingly far more powerful than the natural realm.  The Spiritual realm is the greater reality.  The laws of the natural realm are derived from superior, and of greater precedence, Spiritual laws.  No natural law can withstand the challenge of a Spiritual law.  It must acquiesce.  Acquiesce means to “accept something without protest.”  This is very important for us to learn and remember.  We see this when Jesus walks on the water or raises the dead.  There is a reason God makes it abundantly clear in His Word that spoken words from our mouths either curse or bless us.  We have free will to say what we say, but we are also responsible for the good or bad fruit that grows from the words.

Proverbs 18:21

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

Job 22:28

“Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.”

Here are several Scripture verses identifying God’s Word as a Spiritual substance—something that is alive, active, and powerful in the Spiritual realm:

1. Hebrews 4:12

“For The Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and Spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

This verse is often referenced when discussing the “Living Word” because it emphasizes the dynamic, penetrating, and discerning nature of Scripture — not as static text, but as a Spiritually alive force.

2. I Peter 1:23

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by The Word of God, Which liveth and abideth for ever.”

This verse directly describes The Word as living and eternal, indicating It is not just information but a Spiritual force that changes the Spirit in us from one of darkness to one of light, eternally, and penetrates the deepest parts of our being.

3. John 6:63

“It is The Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: The Words that I speak unto you, They are Spirit, and They are life.”

Jesus declares that His Words are Spirit and life, affirming Their Spiritual nature and life-giving power.

4. Isaiah 55:10–11

“10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11 So shall My Word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: It shall not return unto Me void, but It shall accomplish that which I please, and It shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent It.”

God’s Word is portrayed as a sent substance that accomplishes tasks, much like a Spiritual agent or force.  Just as the physical rain is a substance, so too is The Word of God a Spiritual substance.  As Isaiah 55:10-11 states, The Word, like the rain, watereth one’s soul, causing it to prosper (III John 2) and bring forth seed to the sower and bread to the eater (II Corinthians 9:10).  It prospers through the study, the meditation, the belief, the confession (decree), and the receiving in faith, with thanksgiving, of The Word’s promises (II Corinthians 1:20).

5. Proverbs 4:20–22

“20 My son, attend to My Words; incline thine ear unto My Sayings.

21 Let Them not depart from thine eyes; keep Them in the midst of thine heart.

22 For They are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

In Proverbs 4:20-22, we see the emphasis God puts on His Word.  We’re exhorted to ingest The Word and write it upon the table of our heart.  Why?  Because God’s Word is life and health to our flesh, our natural bodies and natural mind.  When we engage in warfare against the adversary, we must use God’s Word, not a paraphrase, but God’s written Word against him to be successful.

The phrase “Living Word” refers to the dynamic, active, and life-giving nature of God’s Word.  It’s not just text or speech—it’s a Spiritual force that carries divine power, presence, and purpose.  Here’s a breakdown of what “Living Word” means:

1. It Is Alive and Active

Hebrews 4:12 says The Word is “living and powerful.”  This means It’s not static or dead.  It moves, works, and interacts with the human soul.

It penetrates the soul and Spirit [God’s Spirit in you], discerning thoughts and intentions, which only something Spiritually alive can do.

2. It Carries the Life of God

John 6:63 — Jesus said, “It is The Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: The Words that I speak unto you, They are Spirit, and They are life.”

His Word is infused with divine life, capable of transforming hearts, renewing minds, changing our futures, creating prosperity, and healing bodies.

3. It Is Eternal and Unchanging

1 Peter 1:23 — “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by The Word of God, Which liveth and abideth for ever.”

The Word is described as incorruptible seed, meaning It has eternal life and reproduces Spiritual life in those who receive It.   The Word is planted in the amoral [neither good or bad] soil of our hearts.  As we meditate It, the seed, the Word of God, grows the harvest of good fruit in us and for us.  From our harvests of fruit of the seed, we can generously help others as we are commanded to do in Genesis 12:2-3.

4. It Manifests God’s Will

Isaiah 55:11 — “So shall My Word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: It shall not return unto Me void, but It shall accomplish that which I please, and It shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent It.”

God’s Word is a Spiritual agent that accomplishes His will.  It’s sent forth like a living messenger.

5. It Dwells in Believers

Colossians 3:16 — “Let The Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to The Lord.”

The Word isn’t just something we read—It’s something that lives in us, shaping our thoughts, speech, and actions.

The “Living Word” is God’s spoken and written Word that carries His Spirit, power, and life. It’s a Spiritual substance that:

Creates (Genesis 1)

Heals (Psalm 107:20)

Transforms (Romans 12:2)

Judges (Hebrews 4:12)

Abides forever (1 Peter 1:23)

We see from The Scriptures that God’s Word is the first and final authority in all of creation.  It is crucially important that we, as Believers, understand the power of God’s Word.  God, through Jesus Christ, has given us the authority and power to wield God’s Word in this earth and in the heavens to bring about God’s will and to usher in God’s Kingdom throughout the earth.  Jesus is The Word.

Revelation 19:13

“And He [Jesus] was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His Name is called The Word of God.”

This is why The Word of God is a “Living Word.”  The very Word you read, study, and meditate each day is Jesus, Himself.  In my vision, when I see Jesus speaking and The Words leaving His mouth, It is Jesus, Himself, His very essence, that encapsulates each Word.  Jesus is the living Word of God.

1. Jesus as The Living Word

The clearest declaration comes from:

John 1:1, 14

“In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God, and The Word was God.”

“And The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of The Only Begotten of The Father,) full of grace and truth.”

Here, “The Word” (Greek: Logos) is Jesus Himself—eternal, divine, and the agent of creation.

When Jesus came to earth, The Word took on human flesh.  He is the embodiment of God’s Word, alive and active.

2. Jesus and The Word Are One

Revelation 19:13

“And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God.”

This prophetic vision of Jesus at His second coming identifies Him by name as “The Word of God.”

3. Jesus Speaks The Living Word

John 6:63

“It is The Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: The Words that I speak unto you, They are Spirit, and They are life.”

Jesus’ Words are not just teachings—They are Spiritual substance, carrying divine life and power.

4. The Word Is Eternal and Unchanging

Matthew 24:35

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away.”

Jesus’ Words are eternal, just like He is.  This reinforces the idea that The Word is not merely text—It is alive, enduring, and divine.

5. The Word Creates and Sustains

Hebrews 1:3

“Who being the brightness of His [God] glory, and the express image of His [God] person, and upholding all things by The Word of His power [God], when He [Jesus] had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of The Majesty on High;”

Jesus sustains the universe by His Word, showing Its creative and sustaining power—a Spiritual force that holds reality together.

In closing, I hope we can see that God’s Word is more than just Words on a two-dimensional page of length and width.  The power and efficacy of God’s Word reaches into all dimensions throughout this universe.  God has given us the authority and power to use His Living Word, Jesus Christ, King and Lord of The Kingdom of God, to effect and change any situation in this earth, and the heavens, through divine decrees made in faith.  We don’t have to accept any situation in this earth and the heavens that is contrary to what God’s Word says.  We are given the right, by God through Jesus, to change the earth and heavens, by the faith-filled decrees of His Word, to come into line with God’s will.  “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.”  When we, as Believers, engage with The Scriptures, we are encountering the Living Presence of Jesus Christ.  I hope and pray you receive and live The Word.

“Baruch atah Adonai” (I bend my knee in recognition that You, my covenant Father, are sovereign over this moment.)
