Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ Jesus,
Every single day when we awake, we make an immediate choice. Some of us might say we can’t make any choices, let alone think, until we’ve had our morning coffee or tea. I say this in humor. However, in all seriousness, we make a choice the moment we wake up. What is this choice? We choose the kind of day we will experience.
Psalm 118:24
This is the day which The LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
This verse by the Psalmist has two quality decisions in it. The first quality decision the Psalmist stated, inspired by The Holy Spirit, is the belief “this is THE DAY which The Lord hath made.” The second quality decision of the Psalmist, inspired by The Holy Spirit, is “WE WILL rejoice and be glad in it.” What is a quality decision? A quality decision is one that is made in full persuasion of The Truth. In other words, we are fully persuaded of what God’s Word has to say. It is no longer The Word to us. It is The Truth to us. Truth is The Word revealed in our hearts. Plenty of Believers know The Word, but they don’t have revelation of The Truth. Mental ascent is not heart belief. This is why we have hundreds of denominations today.
First, we need to understand that God loves us just as much as He loves Jesus. There it is again. Another religious cow is tipped over. Yes, God Himself said to us, through Jesus the Christ, that He loves us as much as He loves His Son.
John 17:21-23
21 That they all may be one; as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be one in Us: that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest Me I have given them; that they may be one, even as We are one:
23 I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent Me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me.
Notice in John 17:23, Jesus in His prayer to His Father, states, “and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved Me.” Wow!! Simply amazing. God loves us just as much as He loves Jesus. Your mind won’t comprehend it. Just allow your heart to believe it. God loves us just as much as He loves Jesus. He doesn’t love Jesus any more than He loves us, and He doesn’t love us any less than He loves Jesus. “Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound.”
What did God give Jesus, Whom He loves so much and in Whom He is well pleased? Revelation 5:12 tells us.
Revelations 5:12
Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is The Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.
Because God loves us as much as He loves Jesus, He made us joint heirs with Jesus Christ (Romans 8:17). This means everything given to Jesus is given to us as Believers. The Scriptures in John 16:15 tell us that God gave everything that belongs to Him to Jesus. As joint heirs, God’s everything to Jesus is also God’s everything to us through Jesus. Meditate on this. EVERYTHING that belongs to God The Father belongs to you and to me. EVERYTHING except God’s throne. But we are seated at God’s right hand in Christ Jesus.
Second, we must understand God can ONLY give us good gifts and perfects gifts. And everything from God is a gift. What makes something a gift? There is no expectation of payment or a quid-pro-quo for the gift. It is freely given with no expectation of repayment of any kind. God can only make good and perfect days, and they are gifts to us. Can God give us a bad or imperfect day? No. His Word says He cannot do so. James 1:17 tells us God cannot be variable, He cannot give anything other than good and perfect gifts to us, and everything He gives us is a gift.
James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from The Father of lights, with Whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Third, we must understand God blesses us daily with benefits. Psalm 68:19 tells us God is thinking about us daily. He daily provides us – no, He daily loadeth us – with benefits. “Load” means “a lot.” Daily, every day, God loads us with new benefits. What are these benefits? It tells us when the verse states, “even The God of our salvation.” Salvation is not just eternal life. This is a very important part of it, but it is just the tip of the iceberg of the benefits, or gifts, we’re given by God through salvation. There is daily, divine deliverance, protection, healing, and Spiritual and material prosperity – in this earth.
Psalm 68:19
Blessed be The Lord, Who daily loadeth us with benefits, even The God of our salvation. Selah. [selah = pause and think on this or meditate]
I like to joke that God has an Amazon delivery of His benefits for us at our door every single morning we awake. It is always exciting to see what God has for us. God is our ultra, beyond comprehension, rich Father Who loves to give us good gifts and perfect gifts every single day. He is not the god of religion which would have us physically, mentally, and Spiritually fear God and seek to perform, to constantly try and earn God’s approval, and to earn a crumb from the Master’s table. Those that teach this are accursed [cursed with a double portion of the curse] according to Paul in Galatians 1:8-9. God’s Word, not mine. So be very careful with and respect God’s Word. The Father of The Scriptures is generous and wants His will in Heaven to come to pass on this earth. Why? Because there are only good gifts and perfect gifts in Heaven, there is only wealth, opulence, and superb craftsmanship, there is no sickness, there is no struggle, there is no pain, there is no toil, there is no fear, there is no anger, sadness, or depression, there is love, joy, peace, there is no sin, there is no enemy, there is no devourer, there is gentleness, goodness, meekness, temperance, faith, there is excitement, there is wonderful expectation, there is only exceeding abundance, and there is no end to all of God’s good gifts and perfect gifts. If God were to give anything other than good gifts and perfects gifts, He would be evil. And He cannot be evil. It is impossible.
Fourth, we must have an expectation of God. God commands us to expect from Him. The Psalmist in Psalm 62:5-6, inspired by The Holy Spirit (II Timothy 3:16), tells us our expectation is from God. God has put it inside of our souls to expect from Him.
Psalm 62:5-6
5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my defense; I shall not be moved.
What is our expectation according to Psalm 62:5? Strongs instructs us the following: “The Hebrew word “tiqvah” primarily denotes a sense of hope or expectation. It is used in the Old Testament to convey a confident anticipation of good, often in the context of God’s promises and deliverance. This hope is not a mere wishful thinking, but it is a firm assurance based on the character and faithfulness of God.” Notice the definition states, “based on the character and faithfulness of God.” God is love and God is light (I John 4:16 and I John 1:5, respectively). Love is always giving. God created us because He is love, and love must have a recipient. God created us to receive the love He freely gives. I’m going to say something you may never have heard previously. God is not whole, or fulfilled, unless He has us. Love, which is God, is not perfected unless It has someone to love. Read and meditate I John 4:16-19, and you’ll see this to be true.
I John 4:16-19
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
Notice I John 4:19. God must have something to love because He is love. God loved us before we were even lovable. Love cannot be whole, or fulfilled, unless there is an object of the Love. And God is a lavish giver. This is a quality or the character of Love. We are the object of His love, and He gives to us lavishly and freely through Jesus Christ.
Going back to Psalm 118:24, now that we have a much better understanding of God and His character, we can do what? We can “rejoice and be glad in it.” We can rejoice and be glad in the day The Lord hath made. Why? Because we know our Father gives us benefits, which are good gifts and perfect gifts, daily. But we must expect this, and we must receive this from our Father. Every single, early morning when I pray, I tell my Father I expect from Him today, and I receive from Him today. He is my El Shaddai, my All Sufficient One. I need Him, and Him only do I need. As Abraham said in Genesis 14:22-23, I will not take ANYTHING from the world that is not given to me by God.
Genesis 14:22-23
22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto The LORD, The Most High God, The Possessor of heaven and earth,
23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine [king of Sodom’s], lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:
As the world, and satan, could not make a claim to having made Abram, later Abraham, rich, so, too, the world, and satan, cannot make a claim to having made me rich. My Father God, and Him only, has made me rich, and continues to make me richer Spiritually, physically, materially, and financially. I believe and receive Genesis 12:2-3 and III John 2. This is God’s will for us in this earth. I must be blessed to be a blessing. And I was blessed way back in Genesis 1:28.
In closing, we have a quality decision to make every morning we awake. God has laid it before us very clearly and very plainly in Deuteronomy 30:19.
Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
We can wake up praising and thanking God for the good day and the perfect day He has made for us and, in faith, expect it to be filled with His love for us, filled with His daily benefits, filled with His blessings that overcome and overtake us, filled with His promises for us to which He has already said “yes” and “amen” to in Christ Jesus, and by doing this choose life and blessing. Or we can wake up depending on the world, and live in fear, as Lot, a righteous man, a saved man, did, and we can read about his end in this world. Yes, Lot is in Heaven, but what a terrible testimony he was for The Father in this earth. Let’s be like Abraham and choose and expect life and blessing from our Father, El Shaddai. Let’s obey His Word. If we do, we will absolutely know what kind of day it is for us in Christ.
In Christ Jesus,
Larry
